Characteristics - Jaime Tang is considered much of the 'drunkie' character. He acts before thinking, however he seems to do anything successfully. He enjoys playing jokes on others even if it has gone overboard.
There is also a 'hippie' side of him where the world doesn't do any harm to him, in his opinion. He seems to be a slacker in school and he never gets angry even through the toughest situations.
Jaime loves to eat and sleep, even in libraries.
He is known to make several sarcastic remarks.
Story preferences (SPOILERS) -
Arkon's Magic Arc:
Jaime has shadow powers which was first revealed on episode 23. He began his introduction by scaring ShirleyC with the water faucet which only malfunctioned when Shirley was alone. He also played jokes with Matt by showing a strange ghostly shadow in the stalls whenever Matt goes into the restroom. He seems to be closest to Yessenia in the story so far.
Olympia Arc:
Jaime returns to visit Olympia in order to continue the stages that all power holders need to complete.
El Monte Arc:
In this arc, Jaime's role was considered to be a test-cheater but was completely misunderstood by Matt's point of view. This alludes to reality when Jaime was lucky getting a high score on his test in his English class.
Echoville Arc:
In Jaime's Echoville plot, he challenges Sirius, the small blue elf of cloud. In a struggling battle, Jaime wins by using an Implosion spell. Later, Jaime unexpectedly battles against Vialaro, the sniper. However, to his surprise, one gunshot hit his hat as it fell. Jaime no longer decides to wear a hat as it will distract him from battle again.
Dimensional Arc:
Jaime returns in this arc in order to help Shirley, Matt, Yessenia, and Alex find their way through Edmund after the aftermath of Mariel.
Escape Arc:
Jaime first appears in the sophomore year by acting as a CORP guard in a concentration camp. He decides to chase after Matt and Yessenia, but as a guard, not as "Jaime".
Enheizer Arc:
Matt and Yessenia are taken to Enheizer with the help of Jaime but Yessenia does not trust his ordeals. Later, Matt Yessenia, Venus, and Alex arrive at the headquarters of Enheizer only to find that Jaime helped activate the Pendulum of Time, which gave Matt and co. all their powers back.
Save Miki Arc:
In this arc, Tony and Jaime appear together to experiment on the new elemental crystals. In the process, Miki, Alice's best friend, dies from using too much energy.
Marconian Continent Arc:
Matt and Venus begin by chasing after Jaime. Jaime and Tony continue to plot a plan to increase elemental crystal wielders. In Jaime's first task, he had to find Omar. At that time, he also found Peter and accidentally gave Peter the elemental crystal of Panda Transformation.
Later on the elevator boat, Jaime battles Omar, revealing Omar's twin-sword mastery. Venus joins in on the battle. After Omar's loss, Jaime kidnaps Omar and leaves the boat.
Jaime confront Matt and Amy at the Plaines Triangle and tells them that he has triggered the Grand Cradle. This causes lots of monsters to appear in the Marconian Continent. Luckily, Matt and Amy were able to cancel the Grand Cradle before Jaime could out-smart them.
Towards the end of the arc, Jaime confronts Peter again at the Meteo Bridge. Quickly, Jaime defeats Peter and heads towards Wisteria.
Potrero Arc:
Jaime is mostly hidden in the beginning of the arc. Towards the end, he appears with Tony at the highway. However, he hesitates to fight back against Matt and Alex. At the end of the arc, he tells Yessenia that he plans to escape Wisteria on his own.
Rowen Arc:
In Tigre Village, Jaime is caged as an incoming slave. However, Yessenia's group helps free him, but he could have easily freed himself with his shadow powers. Jaime reveals that he purposely became a slave because of his evil deeds during the Marconian Continent arc and says he must repay his wrongdoings. He also reveals that he does not want to live anymore.
After several events when Matt enters Tigre Village, Matt tells Jaime that there are people who want him to stay alive. Jaime decides to help Matt in return, by going to the Whistel Continent to stop Rowen. He uses his shadow powers to add comic relief while Matt climbs the Trinity Top.
Upon returning to Tigre Village, he barges into the hideout with Alex, Venus, and Winny. He then gets tired into battling against Droan, the smoke elemental user. While battling Droan, Droan slips his tongue and says to put himself out of his misery. This reminds Jaime of when he said he does not want to live anymore. As a result, Jaime refused to battle Droan by running away and then he crashes into Alex and Venus who are still fighting Narisa. With a three-versus-two battle, Jaime's group managed to knock Droan and Narisa out without killing them.
