Website Version 2.0! These two episodes are the last episodes of Volume 2, along with before school starts. Sorry it's very late today. It's almost 12am but this whole day I've been busy, in a fun way. Seriously.

Anyway, this is Matthew Tran, offering a story for your boredom, although reading is probably boring to you guys already anyways. Still, take the time to look around I guess!
This story has a rough draft title: Fires of the sky.
This story is about a boy named Matt who enters his first day of high school. However, once he steps in, an incident occurs minutes later behind the large gym of where he sat. As he goes outside, a huge commotion goes on about a fire and Matt tries to save his friend. He trips on a puddle of oil. At a glimpse, he can see something in the sky. Unfortunately, he faints from the harsh slipping that he had experienced. As he wakes up, he mentions the fire but his friends say none of that happened. As time goes by, Matt will experience his own powers, along with new friends who will have the same problem. Will Matt explain his powers to the whole world and ask for help to change him back into a normal person?"

Episode 26: Jen's Everlasting Secret - Part 2
Episode 26: Jen’s Everlasting Secret – Part 2
It was the day before Halloween. The rain had stopped and Matt sat with ShirleyC and Yessenia. Matt coughed from the rain in recent hours, “Augh, I just don’t get it. Why couldn’t she tell me?”
Yessenia was looking at a list of classes, “Well, according to this list, Jen is moving away from our lunch period. She didn’t want to tell you because it would get you sad.”
Matt gave an utter laughter, “Hah! Why would I get sad? I’m happy for her because she’s going to be in Geometry Accelerated.”
ShirleyC looked at the highlighted area of Jen’s schedule, “Oh I see. ‘Acc’ was written next to Geometry P to show that she’s changing to that class. But Geometry Accelerated is only for students who will end up being in first period lunch.”
Matt questioned her, “Wait a minute. How come Santi has our lunch period?”
Yessenia pointed at the list, “This might be confusing, but Tech Core is not for third period. Jen has Computer Concepts for fourth period and both of these classes have to be back-to-back for a year. That’s why for you, Matt, Tech Core is your first semester class and Computer Concepts will be your class during second semester at the end of January. On this map, Tech Core for fourth period is for students with first period lunch. Computer Concepts is for students with second period lunch. Currently, she has Geometry P for fourth period but she’s going to switch the period number with Computer Concepts. Santi already has Tech Core with you right now so that’s why you two are in the same lunch period.”
“Does this mean Jen won’t be in our lunch period anymore? Even for second semester?” Matt became frightened.
“Yes, apparently so.” Yessenia said.
Matt thought about it. “Since the day we started bonding in middle school, I never split apart from her from the only time where I get to hang out with her most. Now the only time we can talk is during P.E. but that’s only when the three P.E. teachers combine the classes, which is rarely. I won’t get to see her that much anymore…”
Shirley killed the moment with a joke, “See and that’s why she didn’t want to tell you, freaking wimp.”
Matt pointed a finger at her, “Hey! I’m no wimp. I’ve got guts… man!”
He was about to shake Shirley but Shirley quickly moved away, thinking out loud, “Oh, speaking of which, how come Santi never hangs out with us then?” Matt fell when Shirley moved.
Yessenia shrugged, “Eh, who knows. He told me he hangs out with people we don’t know. Something to do with skaters-… Oh goodness. I just realized he hangs out with skaters yet he’s very smart and almost Rank 1 for Class of 2011.”
Matt rubbed his forehead from the fall. He stood up and seemed surprised, “Well that’s just amazing. Anyways, what should I do now?”
Shirley slapped his back, “Don’t you worry. You have us! Heehee!”
Matt coughed again but from the pain, “Wha, geez!”

Matt saw Jen sitting down alone after school nearby the large gym. He sat down on the rails and said to Jen, “Hey…”
Jen looked up at him and gave him a soft smile, “Hi. Matt, I want to tell you something.”
Matt shook his head. “There’s no need to tell me, haha. I already know about your classes.”
“Way to ruin the moment.” Jen giggled. “Will you be okay with me moving to another lunch period?”
“Of course I will. Even though we’re considered best friends, I can still talk to you in the future. We got three years ahead of us, right? Besides, it’s better that you’re aiming high, for that Geometry Accelerated class.”
“Mhm!” Jen said happily.
From afar, the two of them could see Lisa waving at Jen. As Lisa arrived at the rails, she said to Jen while pretending Matt is not there, “Jen, come with me to my teacher’s class to get your assignments. Hurry before he leaves.”
Lisa went ahead and Jen sighed. She stood up and Matt said to her, “Your friend Lisa seems sorta shy.”
“I know. She pretends to not notice people, not because she’s mean, but because she is shy to talk to people. But she is kind. You pretend not to notice people sometimes too, don’t you?”
“What, are you calling me shy now?”
“Hehe, maybe. Don’t worry, I sorta am too. But, we’ll all change hopefully. Anyways, I’m gonna go to my new math class to get my assignments. Take care Matt!” She began to run while waving at Matt.
Matt was left behind. He watched as she left, “Aw man… the only time we get to hang out is a rare occasion during P.E.” He would agree to hang out after school as well but he does not enjoy staying out after sixth period. He would rather go home and rest or go on the computer.

It was the day of Halloween. During lunch, everything seemed much quieter to Matt. It was difficult for him to comprehend with his friends at the time. He sat with his knees on his chin. He started feeling more boredom and sadness growing into his expression. He quickly hid his face by facing down.
Shirley kneeled down, “Hey Matt, are you okay?”
Danny poked his hair, “Is it because Jen is gone now?”
Yessenia leaned against the wall, only watching. Matt said, “It’s a lot more boring without Jen here. We talked about just anything.”
Yessenia decided to speak up, “I know it’s hard to lose a friend even if it is just during lunch, but you’ve got a lot ahead of you. I have a sister in high school right now who is experiencing a lot more hardcore obstacles that we might have to go through. This is a simple task that you have to handle.”
Danny said bluntly, “It doesn’t look like he can handle this.”
Shirley slapped him, “Sh!”
Matt gave himself a smile, “Well, I can always try, right? After all, I got you guys. New friends are always great to have.”
Yessenia began to smile and Shirley gave him a thumbs-up. Shirley said loudly, “That’s the spirit!!”
“Oh yeah,” Matt mentioned, “Jen invited me to her Halloween night. It’s going to be a time where I will consider it the last time we see each other, other than during P.E. She said she doesn’t know her new high school friends too well so she only invited her Columbia friends.”
Yessenia patted him on the shoulder, “That’s great. You should have fun while it lasts.”
“I just don’t enjoy scary movies but I guess I’ll go.” Matt said.

During Halloween night, Jen grabbed Matt’s arm and pulled him into the living room, “This is the spot! See!”
Matt looked at the table, “Cantaloupe?”
Jen pointed at the television screen, “No! We’re watching Dead End! It’s very gross and gory.”
Matt turned to notice Stan, Kalpesh, Lisa, and her two other Columbian friends, Erica and Samantha. Halfway through the movie, everyone except Stan and Matt were covering their heads from the gore. Matt squinted an eye, “Oh that’s gross!”
Stan laughed strangely, “Muahaha! Dwarves cutting off a girl’s arm – perfect!”
As the scene finished, Erica was shaking against Samantha, “I don’t want to see that again! Change the movie!”
Jen held onto Matt while screaming, “No way! It’s Halloween night!” A sudden scream appeared in the movie and Jen closed her eyes, holding tighter, “Ahhh!”
Stan whispered to Kalpesh, “Hehe, shh.” He took a candy wrapper and he threw it at Jen. The slight tough frightened Jen to the max. The whole group began to laugh. Jen began to blush.
She screamed again, “Is this how you all treat me after I invite you to Halloween night?! Whatever!~” She softly chuckled and everyone laughed at her. Matt watched them all, staying as happy as ever. These were the kind of people he had hung out with in the past but from here on, he has to handle himself with hanging out with new friends. It would be a strange transformation for him…

On that same night a few hours later, Matt was in his bedroom, looking up into the sky from his window. “Stupid trees, I can’t even see much.” His room was still dark as he only sat on his bed for hours. He did not want to get up to turn on the lights. Matt suddenly froze, “Wait a minute, what is that?!” There was a same glare in the sky that Matt saw over a month ago, “It’s… the light from when I tried to save Stan in the fire!” He clenched his teeth, “This can’t be good. It’s finally here again. More students are going to get powers and it will only cause chaos!”
Matt quickly got on the computer. He looked at his AIM list and saw Yessenia’s screen name first, “Hey you!”
“What do you want?” Yessenia typed.
“There’s another red light in the sky! You’ve got to see it!”
After a minute, Yessenia replied, “Yeah. It’s that same one from before right?” She gave a surprised smiley face but in reality, she was not so surprised.
“Don’t you get it!! More people are gonna get powers. It’s gonna be crazy!”
“What can we do? Nothing much. Besides, before I got my powers, I noticed the light and it stayed there for awhile. So, when you saw the light, it stayed there for awhile too.”
Matt tried to think then he began to type, “What’s your point?”
Yessenia rolled her eyes as she messaged him, “Well, if the light stayed for awhile, then there was a higher chance that a lot of people would have looked into the sky at some point. Now, there are two things we have to take notice of. One, if a lot of students saw the light, then they are really good at hiding it since we don’t know that many people with powers. Or two, if a lot of students don’t even have powers yet, that just means the light is not the case.”
Matt thought about what to type. Her argument was cornering him with nothing else to say. “But what about when I gained my powers? I looked up at the sky and noticed the light right before I fainted. When I woke up, the fire powers suddenly appeared.”
Yessenia joked, “Ooooh maybe it’s like those dramas where this whole thing is a dream.”
“That’s stupid. If this was a dream, then I would have woken up already. Two months continually does not count as a dream! Besides, your face would have been a little unclear since I’ve known you after I got these powers. Dreams don’t create a clear image of some stranger.”
“Calm down, I was just joking. All you have to do is not worry about it. As long as you, our friends and I are not exposed, then we are fine. If anyone else is, then that’s their loss.”
Matt gave himself an angry expression. “Isn’t that selfish?”
“Like I said, what can we do? Nothing. We can only protect ourselves.”
Matt thought about Jon. “Why hasn’t Jon ever exposed us?”
“That’s what I would like to know.”
Matt asked again, “And if we’re not getting our powers because of the light in the sky, then what is causing us to get them?!”
Yessenia gave an annoyed emoticon and messaged him, “That’s beyond me. Maybe I’m wrong. Who knows. I’m telling you, it’s not that scary if you leave the thought alone. I’m still trying to find out what’s going on with us. For now, just stay calm. I think Arkon’s Magic is not the only strange place too.”
Matt questioned her, “What other places are you thinking of?”
“Beats me. But if you think about it, I was given a list of places to teleport to on my cellphone. With a list, you’ll supposedly have a lot more of course. We’ll just wait and see.” Said Yessenia. She went on, “Goodness, look at the time. It’s getting late and tomorrow is still school. I’m going to bed. Goodnight.”
Matt typed “See ya” and Yessenia logged off. Matt said to himself, “This is strange. The same light is coming from the moon yet I saw it from the sun when I got my powers. What is going on here? It is as if the sun and moon are connected.” He placed his fire stone on his desk, “I hope I can find out more information on how this is happening and where the powers are coming from…” He looked out the window and the light was still there, “The sun and moon continue to shine together. The light will continue to embrace students with supernatural skills along with their own confusion. Why… why won’t it stop already?!”

From the same time, Erica opened her eyes. She sat up on her bed and yawned, “Ah… that felt like a nice nap.” She looked out at the sky, “The moon is so pretty tonight…” She noticed the light, “Oh my goodness, what is that? It’s very bright and noticeable.” She sniffed the air, “Hm… nature is perfect tonight.”

The power of flames had reached its point of existence. It had chosen its carrier, Matt of such power. The imperfect society that is existent within such a school had rendered towards the oncoming troubles. Now more are even appearing. But this time, they will have to challenge the theory of Gods from above. This stage will no longer be so simple…

Episode 25: Jen's Everlasting Secret - Part 1
Episode 25: Jen’s Everlasting Secret – Part 1
“This is Matt here. Let’s see, where to begin… Oh right! I started my Freshman year without knowing much. I didn’t care much about my appearance nor how others felt about me. After all, I just went through only middle school. I entered this high school and first saw Jen, my childhood friend, waiting for me near the large gym. We talked to each other, just each other. We were like best friends. We shared the same feelings as I hadn’t shared to with others, not even Stan or Kalpesh. However, ever since I suddenly had these fire powers, I been keeping this secret from Jen. She’s been trying to figure out what I really am hiding all these weeks that it made us more difficult to trust each other. Still, there is just something… something that even she is hiding from me.” Matt dropped his pencil, folded the self-written letter and hid it in a hole hidden in his folder where the ripped crease opened. Matt smiled at the folder as he placed it in his backpack.

“Yes.” Jen said while on the phone in her house. She nodded again, “Yes, I see.” She hung up and sighed to herself. “In five days, huh?”
Lisa was waiting in the living room, “Who is she talking to?”
Jen folded a sheet of paper and hid it under her books as she ran out to tell Lisa, “My mom’s gonna be home in a bit. She just went out to get some ingredients for dinner.”
“Oh? I see.” She watched as Jen headed for the showers. Jen had a frown on while walking. Lisa was concerned, so she quickly arrived in Jen’s room when Jen went into the bathroom to bathe. Lisa looked around Jen’s room, “She sure does love running yet her room is so girly. Hm…” She noticed a piece of paper sticking out of a stack of books. She pulled out the paper and she looked around, “Is this a schedule? She should really leave this in her backpack.” She pointed at the list, “Oh?” She noticed a highlighted portion, “Geometry P? I wonder why it is highlighted… oh well. It’s bad to barge into her stuff like this. I should put it back.” She kindly stepped out of Jen’s room.

Matt sat down feeling exhausted from a warm-up lap. He sat down alone, however. Shirley Cao noticed that he was sitting by himself so she came over to him to give comfort, “Hello!”
Matt sat up properly and said, “Huh? Uh, hey.”
“What is it now?” She gave him a nice smile.
“I don’t know… For two weeks now, Jen’s been frowning at sometimes I catch those moments. Is she just a moody person?”
“How should I know?” Shirley said without trying to be mean for once.
“You know her a lot, don’t you? You two are like best buds.”
“What? That’s crazy, Matt. I was never so close to Jen.” She looked up into the sky, “The truth is, it may seem like we are best buds, but I reserved that spot for you.”
“What do you mean?” Matt wondered.
Shirley giggled, “Well, I know you’ve been her best childhood friend all these years. I’m not just going to come into her life after a few weeks and start stealing her away from you. I won’t do that. I limit myself to talking to her.” She thought for awhile as she went on, “So truthfully, I only talk to her during lunch and it’s usually the times you’re there. Coincidentally, it looks like we’re best buds. We don’t know each other at all. Hehe.”
“Is that so? You reserved that spot so that I can stay her best friend?”
“Of course, Matt! Does it look like I’m a friend-stealer or what?”
Matt looked down at her short-shorts. Shirley placed her hands over her legs and blushed. Matt said, “You even have P.E. short-shorts.”
Shirley looked away, still blushing, “Tch, just because a girl wears short-shorts doesn’t mean they’re a bad girl. Jen wears short-shorts doesn’t she? Is she a bad girl?”
Matt thought about her incoming pervertedness growing, thanks to Danny. He chuckled then he became serious again, “Well, when Jen knows when to be serious. She’s a really sincere and kind person when you express your feelings to her. She’s a bit sensitive even if she doesn’t show it.”
“Doesn’t show it, you say? Speaking of which, she’s been frowning during lunch. What the heck is that about?”
“I’m not sure. We’ll see.” Matt claimed.

During lunch, Jen sat down with her tray of food. She gave a quick smile as she bit into her burger. Matt whispered to Shirley, “Same food everyday. I’d get tired of eating it by now.”
Shirley joked, “You’re already tired of that macaroni and cheese and you haven’t eaten it in a week.”
“Hey, don’t push it.” Matt started to chuckle. Matt noticed Jen and her sad face again. He tried to think of what to say as he said out loud, “AH, YESSENIA THERE YOU ARE.”
Yessenia jumped from surprise as she yelled at him, “What the hell is your problem, Matt? I can hear you.”
Matt scooted his chair away, “Eugh, wrong person to mess with… Actually, how was your day?”
Yessenia raised her right eyebrow, “Er, it’s been good.”
Matt ignored her statement, “Oh it’d been crap hm? Tell me about your story. Tell me EVERYTHING about why it’s crap. Come on, I’ll understand completely.”
Yessenia gave Matt a carton of milk, “Then here, open this for me.” She gave him a ketchup bag, “Open this too. I can’t do it myself.~”
Matt thought in his mind, “(Jerk… don’t go overboard.)”
Jen suddenly spoke, “Hey…”
Matt quickly paid attention to her, “(Hey she actually talked.) Um, what is it?”
Jen asked, “How would you feel… if your family member died?”
Matt gasped, “(What?! Someone in her family died?! No wonder her parents didn’t show up the last time I was there when Danny tried to act like a burglar!) I-I’d feel very, very sad!”
Jen continued, “How about if a friend died?”
Matt stopped, “(Er… what the heck. A friend died too, then?) I’d still be sad. They’re the only kind of people that would understand me.”
Jen went on, “How about if a friend moved away, far away?”
Matt said slowly, “I… don’t know…”
Jen said again, “How about not far away?”
Danny suddenly appeared next to Matt, screaming, “I got it!!” Matt and Shirley got startled. Danny said, “Jen is moving away, but is still going to communicate with you, so it’s not considered far. But, she’s going to die as your friend, and die as her family’s family member.”
Shirley slapped Danny, “Oh you shut up!”
Jen focused on Danny, yelling angrily, “I’m serious, Danny!!”
It was the first time Matt saw her so frustrated before. “Jen, are you okay?”
Jen suddenly stopped getting angry once she turned to Matt, “Huh? Oh, yes of course. I just had to ask. You didn’t answer my last question.”
Matt thought about it as he said, “Moving somewhere not far away? If I can still talk to them through something, then I’ll be glad. But if they’re the kind of friend I can depend on most, then it would be hard to let go.”
Yessenia nodded, “That’s right. People start to have lower expectations if they are spoiled.”
Matt clenched his teeth, “What did you say?”
Yessenia said in a witty tone, “Of course, if you knew someone who died, you’d miss them and it wouldn’t matter if someone moved away. You’d get used to people going away from your life. If you never experienced seeing someone’s death and then you know someone who moved away, you’d be as sad as the person who saw someone die. That’s how things go.”
Matt mentioned his past, “Oh! That’s right. Four years ago when I was in fifth grade, I cried so much when my sister was just moving away. I couldn’t stop crying. I missed her a lot.”
Jen looked at Matt with a worried expression, “You did?”
“Yup. It’d be sad if I never see her again.”

After sixth period, Matt walked Jen home, “You seemed sad today. I knew it was the right day to walk you home. I got until 3:20 for my bus stop anyway.”
Jen blushed, “Wha? Why are you walking me home today?”
“Like I said, you seemed pretty sad today. I’m not expecting you to tell me, so the least I could do is help you without having to figure out.” At Jen’s front door, Matt waved, “Well, I hope you feel better with what you have to go through. I’ll be walking to my bus stop now. See ya!”
Matt turned around to start walking but Jen’s voice was heard. “Wait.”
Matt turned again, “Eh?”
Jen said slowly, “You really are hiding something, aren’t you?”
Matt opened his eyes wide in surprise, “Wh-What are you talking about? Heh heh, there’s nothing, really.”
Jen looked away, “So you really are lying to me. Never mind, Matt.” She started opening her front door.
Matt stopped her, “W-Wait, what are you saying? I’m… really not hiding anything.” Jen closed the door and Matt clenched his fists, thinking, “Crap! Does she know about my fire powers?! Ergh, no, no, no!”

On the next day, Matt saw her sitting alone during P.E. He wanted to talk to her but she seemed to be mad at him. Matt decided to sit next to her. He said, “Hey Jen, to tell you the truth… I am hiding something. And I’ll tell you. Is that okay?”
Jen was surprised. She suddenly spoke to him, “Really?! What is it?”
Matt closed his eyes for a moment to think this through. He decided, “Okay. I’ll show you. Since no one else is around us, I’ll show you what I can do.” He opened his palm and focused. However, nothing showed up.
Jen tilted her head, “What am I supposed to see?”
Matt was shaking his right hand, “Come on, work, work!”
Jen began to feel sad again, “You’re joking with me, aren’t you?”
Matt scratched his head, “B-But, Jen!”
Jen stood up, “I guess it really is okay for me to do this.”
Matt was confused, “What do you mean ‘this’?”
Jen got angry, “Never mind. Just forget it.”
When Jen walked away, Matt tried to smack his own hands against the wall, “It’s not working! Argh, what the heck!”
Jon appeared in front of him, “That’s because I disabled you.” He let go of his arms, “Now you’re able to use it. Heh.”
Matt got angry, “Why did you do that?! Now Jen’s never going to trust me ever again!”
Jon yelled at him, “Are you stupid?! If it weren’t for me, you would have exposed yourself. You cannot trust anyone.”
Matt stood up, “And why are YOU telling me that? Jen is very trustful anyway.”
“You’d be the first person to expose our powers and we’ll all end up being notorious towards society.”
Matt walked away from him, “I don’t even know why I’m talking to you.”
“What are you going to do, kill me? That’s not what a good guy would do, right?” He gave an evil smirk.
Matt shook his head, “I’ll try to disable your powers. There’s got to be a way. If we gained these powers, then we can reverse it and lose our powers.”
Jon laughed, “Bah hah hah, that’s easy for you to say! Just face it, kid, you’re worthless with fire powers. What good use can you do with it?”
Matt turned around and said to Jon, “I don’t need these powers to prove I’m a good person!”
Jon remembered when Matt decided not to finish Jon in Arkon’s Magic. He stopped talking, still watching Matt walking away. “That kid…”

It was lunch time, raining as well. Matt started to cough, “Darn it, I hate this feeling. It’s happening again.”
Shirley and Yessenia brought him into the hallway. Shirley complained, “Argh, seriously Matt. If only you could handle the cold rain. Why can’t you just protect yourself with a really hot coat or something?”
Matt replied, “The rain can still wash the heat away. The heat I give to my coat is like flames and if the water touches it, the flames worsen and so do I. I guess it’s some weird rule to my fire powers.”
Yessenia added, “As for my wind powers, I’m weak against fire but it’s not as bad if it were to be a hot day.”
“Then that must mean I’m weak against wind?” Shirley questioned.
Yessenia nodded, “Maybe. Ice is a bit difficult to figure out.” She looked out the window, “Hey what’s Jen doing? She just went into the guidance office.”
Matt tried to get up but he fell down on his knees again, “Ow… argh, it hurts.” He tried to get up once more, “I need to talk to her. I don’t want her to hate me for lying again…!” He tried to run.
Shirley was behind him, “W-Wait, Matt! Stop!”
Matt tried to reach for the guidance office’s door knob, “Jen…!” He fell to the floor again, “Argh, this is useless. Stupid… rain!” All the other students nearby were watching.
Yessenia whispered, “Snap out of it. You can talk to her another time!”
Matt said slowly, “The guidance office… can only mean one thing though…!”
Shirley was confused, “And what is that?”
Matt saw a wet paper in front of him, “She is thinking about… leaving…!” He clenched onto the paper as he decided to open it. “Why is Geometry highlighted?”
Shirley said, “She did plan to move up.”
Matt froze, “Then that means…!”

Website Version 1.9! This is another really big update, in my opinion. It took almost an hour of thinking which to update first. There really is a chronological order that I should follow. Anyways, my sister, whom I never seen since 5th grade (more than 6 years ago) finally visited. I'm here in my cave right now, trying to finish this update. :) She brought her husband and four kids along. They're energetic... and I know the devil child. We should be best of friends.

This story has a rough draft title: Fires of the sky.
This story is about a boy named Matt who enters his first day of high school. However, once he steps in, an incident occurs minutes later behind the large gym of where he sat. As he goes outside, a huge commotion goes on about a fire and Matt tries to save his friend. He trips on a puddle of oil. At a glimpse, he can see something in the sky. Unfortunately, he faints from the harsh slipping that he had experienced. As he wakes up, he mentions the fire but his friends say none of that happened. As time goes by, Matt will experience his own powers, along with new friends who will have the same problem. Will Matt explain his powers to the whole world and ask for help to change him back into a normal person?"

It was another morning for Matt. He sat alone during P.E., thinking carefully about what his classmate, Jaime, said to him. He remembered the exact words, “To burn people up. Come on, use your brain. Heh.”
He clenched onto his hair, feeling scared, “What does this all mean? All this time I’ve been trying to find the usefulness in my fire powers. But from what Jaime said, it’s very obvious that this power is only useful if I want revenge…! Argh, this can’t be. I can’t be evil, right? There’s no way…!”
Santi appeared and sat with Matt, “Alone again?”
Matt started thinking of Santi’s powers, “(The power to slow down time. He can stop bad people from causing any more chaos…)”
Shirley sat on the other side, “Yeah, why are you so quiet today? Tell us.”
Matt looked at Shirley, thinking about her powers as well, “(The power to cause ice at any time. She could make hot drinks colder, or to soothe the warm drinks for thirsty people. Danny can fix lower landscapes if he could. Yessenia could probably support air conditioners. Jaime, well it’s obvious how he can use his powers for good. As for me, I can warm people up but then they’d wonder why it’s warm of all things around the cold weather. My powers are… they are…!)”
Shirley waved her hand in front of Matt’s face, “Hello~…? Wake up!”
“Ah? Uh, oops. Sorry. What did you say again?”
“Wake up…?” Shirley sighed. “What are you thinking? You’re dosing off again.”
Matt laughed softly, “Eheheh, it’s nothing!” He smiled for them then he faced forward, thinking again. Santi noticed Matt’s serious face. Matt suddenly said kindly, “Hey… you guys…?”
Shirley tilted her head for Matt, “Hm?”
“If your closest friend starts to, um, dehumanize or something, then would you try your best to stop them?”
“You mean if my friend turns into a monster?” Shirley questioned.
“I mean, if they start acting really bad around you and then they won’t listen to you anymore. You’ll start being nothing towards them. Would you try to stop them and hope they come to their senses again?”
Shirley gave a sad expression. She was confused about his concerns, “What are you trying to say?”
Matt shook his head and he softly chuckled. He looked up at the sky, “I was just asking. I know someone who might be like that.”
Shirley was surprised, “Oh my gosh! Your best friend? They’re gonna end up forgetting about you…?” Matt looked away and Santi still watched his expressions. He knew something was up.

During lunch, Matt minimally said anything. Jen and Yessenia noticed his expression as well…

After sixth period, the bell rang and Matt decided to go home right away. Yessenia stopped him, “Wait a minute, where are you going, Matt?”
“Um, I have to go home fast.”
“But it’s Friday. Did you forget that there’s Anime Club today?”
Matt closed the door, “Oh, I-I forgot.”
“Besides,” She began to whisper, “This is the only way we can find any further information on Jon. As usual during public, we have to act like we’re nice to Jon. He’s doing the same thing for us. When it comes to power business, THEN he’ll start getting evil. Remember that.”
Matt froze, “Evil?!” Matt imagined him and Jon, laughing with an evil tone together. He shook his head and ran out of the room, “No!”
Yessenia gasped, “What the? Matt! Argh, something is wrong with him today.”
Jaime’s shadow flowed away from under the door, “He just went to the restroom. He might be back.”
Yessenia said to Jaime, “What did you tell him?”
Jaime answered her, “Nothing important. I just told him he can just burn people for fun. But I was kidding.”
“You told him WHAT?!”
Jaime repeated himself, “I said that I just told him he can burn people for-…”
“NOT THAT. I can’t believe you said such a thing.”
“Oh he’ll be fine. I told him about my Shadow powers.”
Yessenia was ashamed, “Knowing each other’s powers were our little secret. Now this secret is not special anymore since you told someone. He might tell someone.”
“He won’t. There’s just something about him that makes me believe he won’t tell anyone.” Jaime said.

Matt punched the sink. It didn’t sting him much since he had fire powers, “Stupid fire powers! Why are you doing this to me?! You’re ruining my high school life.” He took out his fire stone, “You’re useless!!” He raised it up high as he was aiming for the floor. He suddenly thought about his pigeon’s life which was sacrificed into the stone. He stopped and gave a very lonesome sigh.
Matt opened the door and left the restroom. Santi was already outside. He said to Matt, “I knew you’d be here. I saw you running from the classroom. Tell me, what are you thinking?”
Matt thought about it for awhile. He confessed, “Hey Santi, our classmate, Jaime, told me that I can make use of my fire powers by burning people. And since I can’t seem to use it for good use for other people, it’s proof that my powers will turn me evil, just like Jon and his disabling powers. I’m just scared! I’m really, really scared! I don’t know what to do.”
“Matt, that’s not proof. Haha.” He said kindly, “You just need to have a bigger imagination. Find more ways to help others. I know it’s not there in your mind right now, but I’m sure you’ll end up helping others with the help of your fire power. If you haven’t noticed by now, Jon is already evil from his powers. You, it’s not happening.”
“Hehe, I guess. But-…”
“I mean look at you, you’re a sensitive weakling. Haha, there’s no way you can be some powerful evil guy!”
Matt clenched his teeth, “Don’t push it.”
“What I’m trying to say is, you won’t turn evil.” Santi said. Matt felt calmer as he decided to enter the Anime Club’s room again. Santi watched as Matt disappeared from the hallway. He said to himself, “However, there’s no proof that there’s still a chance for any of us, whether we will stay good or turn evil…”

At the end of the meeting, all the members left except Yessenia, Jaime, Matt, and Jon. Yessenia got up from her seat and dragged Matt behind. Jaime followed them to the back of the class. Jon was in the front, “Or advisor is not here yet. It seems we can waste time and have another duel.”
“Duel?” Matt wondered.
Jaime took out his cellphone, “Yessenia showed me Arkon’s Magic. We need to take him down!”
Yessenia activated Arkon’s Magic, “Jon keeps running away whenever we’re close. Argh, this time, we’re finally taking him down!” She disappeared and Matt panicked. He grabbed onto Jaime’s left sleeve right when Jaime clicked on Arkon’s Magic.
The group of three fell onto the ground. They were at a strange mystical place. Yessenia was surprised, “What are you doing here, Matt?! You don’t have a cellphone!”
Matt turned to Jaime, “I must have gone through from Jaime.”
“Dude, you can’t use your powers if you went through my cellphone. Come on, let me take you back out.”
Jon appeared in front of them, “I think that’s not necessary.” A large wind flew through Matt. Matt fell roughly on his back.
Yessenia got angry, “What the hell was that for?!”
Matt sat up, “Argh… ow! How did he do that?!”
Yessenia took out her sword, “Arkon’s Magic is his little world. He can choose to switch his disabled powers to mimic ours!”
“WHAT?!” Matt yelled. “That can’t be!”
Jon opened his palm and a fireball flew out, quickly. Yessenia summoned her sword and swooshed away the fireball. Jaime clapped his hands together and his shadow was stretching towards Jon. Jon jumped away and he opened his palms again. A strange shadow flew out of his hand and it smacked Jaime on the face. Following that, he fell over.
Yessenia ran towards Jon with her blunt sword. Jon threw another fireball and Yessenia focused on it. She easily blocked it but she suddenly froze. “W-Wha…? What are you-…”
She slowly looked down at her shoes. A shadow coming from Jon had reached her. She was then immobilized. Matt watched as both Yessenia and Jaime fell over. “How is it that you have so much power?!”
Jon laughed, “Ah hahaha! You guys are just too weak. That’s right. I created Arkon’s Magic. I was sent a mail from an anonymous person, giving me the opportunity of power! Can’t you see? I’m getting stronger and stronger and you guys are still as weak as ever.”
Matt stood up and said, “Anonymous person? You mean there’s someone much stronger?!”
“Even I don’t know who it is!” Yessenia coughed.
Jaime shook his head, “Damn, that was powerful! Let’s give this another try!”
Yessenia screamed, “No, you shouldn’t!”
Jaime stood up as he read towards Jon, “I’ll show you how shadow magic is done!” He planned to run and summon a shadow at the same time!
Jon closed his eyes and he used his mimic shadow to stop Jaime. Jaime froze in midair. Yessenia clenched her fists, “Tch, this is not good.”
Jon threw Jaime down with his shadow. Jaime was slammed onto the ground and he could not get up this time around. Matt took a step forward, “Stop it! This power of yours is just making you evil. You’re just possessed!”
“Possessed? Who told you that bull crap?” Jon asked angrily.
Matt stood in front of Yessenia, “A friend that I trust.”
Yessenia was shocked. She thought to herself, “(Trust…?)” She remembered telling Matt that she trusts no one.
Jon summoned a blunt sword, “Trust? She’s probably telling you lies again!”
“Lies?” Matt became frightened, “She didn’t lie! No one is as evil as you!”
“Oh stop your bickering. I am not possessed at all!” Jon gripped onto the sword, “She probably just doesn’t want you to get involved in such a case with me. What other lies has she told you?”
Matt turned around as he faced Yessenia, “Yessenia?” Yessenia listened carefully as Matt went on, “Did you really lie to me?”
Yessenia got angry, “What?! That’s nonsense. Do you believe that guy?!”
“Not really. I-…”
“So tell me, why didn’t she tell you this place was my place the last time you came here? She has lots to hide, like the fact that she knew about Jaime and his shadow power way before you knew! Behehe!!”
Matt, Yessenia, and Jaime were all surprised at the same time. Matt said to Yessenia, “You didn’t tell me sooner?! Why? Because of that, I was scared like crazy from Jaime’s stupid shadow prank, and even Shirley cried from this!”
Yessenia turned away, “Don’t yell like that…”
Matt was shaking, “So you DO have a lot more to hide from me, don’t you?”
Yessenia suddenly said loudly, “But I’m not lying about him being possessed!”
Matt looked at Jon’s expression, “True, but…”
Jon interrupted him, “But nothing. She probably lied about me being possessed so you can feel calmer about my devious actions. Hehe! Do you still believe her now?”
Yessenia was silent. Matt said slowly, “I uh, yes I do.”
Jon became annoyed, “Tch!” He raised the blunt sword. He ran towards Matt. Matt was very defenseless! “Prepare for your death! If I kill you three now, no one would find out what happened to you three in the real world! Bahaha!”
At the brink of death, Matt closed his eyes and everything became silent. Matt opened his right eye and he watched as Jon paused. Matt opened both of his eyes wide, “Whoa… What just happened?”
Santi patted Matt on the shoulders, “You should be grateful that I saved you.”
Yessenia said in amazement, “How did you reach Arkon’s Magic?!
Santi fixed his glasses, “My glasses. Something that you care for most, besides a human being. Something that you excessively need with you, whether it is for support or luck.”
Yessenia held her necklace, Matt took out his stone, Santi was still adjusting his glasses, and Jaime looked at his wrist watch. Jaime was in awe, “Whoa, dude, that’s awesome.”
Santi asked Matt, “Looks like you were at the brink of death. So, you’ll choose what will happen to Jon. What will it be?”
Matt pointed at himself, “Huh? Me?” His two friends, and Jaime, were waiting for him. Matt sighed and said, “Let’s get out of here and fix the time of Arkon’s Magic. I guess we can spare Jon. After all, we’re not evil at all. We’re not meant to kill people, even if it is someone evil like Jon.”

Jaime commented, “The only other way to stop Jon peacefully is to get rid of his possession. You even know who to trust. I believe Jon really is possessed. I witnessed it. And the things Yessenia didn’t tell you, she only tried to protect you. I’m glad you trusted Yessenia.” Matt started to chuckle.
Yessenia stared at them without saying a single thing, “(Trust…?)”
