Wow! What
a rush. The group is now through with the Grailden Cavern and are heading
closer to Wisteria as time flies. All that is left is the Meteo Bridge. Back in
the Grailden Cavern, Shirley and Huy run away from a large boulder while
entering a new hole in the cave. The rest of the group decides to move onward,
hoping to find Shirley and Huy by the end of the cave. Michael appears to warn
the group one more time that Wisteria is a dangerous place – mainly worrying
about Tony and Rowen. Matt and his group do not listen, and Michael becomes
frustrated. He returns to Arkon’s Magic, telling Alice that he gave up trying
to warn people. Instead, Alice tells him that there is still hope. She decides
to go back to the world of Elsiya with him so that she could have a talk with
Tony!
Episode 155 – Sum of the Antagonists, the Battle Plan
In the midst of war, Steve, the man
who had split with Alex back from when Alex was in the concentration camp, had
finally appeared in Wisteria. He took a look at all of the warships and tanks
that filled the battlefield. Only a few civilians were still there, running for
their lives. He became angry at the fact that the CORP soldiers are fighting a
useless war. “A war against the Peridot soldiers? Pathetic!” Steve said in
anger. “I must stop who is in charge of this. I must do this for Wisteria, and
for my wife… Melanie!” Remember Melanie? She is the woman who was shot and died
moments after back in the concentration camp when Matt was still there.
The remembering comments that
Melanie made for Matt was something unforgettable, however, Steve was unable to
witness her death. He only heard from the CORP soldiers moments after Melanie
had died. Now, Steve is in Wisteria in order to kill anybody who gets in his
way…
~~~
The group reached the north end of
the mile-long bridge. Matt, Yessenia, Alex, Shirley, Huy, and Amy were all
standing at the edge of the steel-made area. The six of them stopped once they
saw a large panda lying on the floor. Amy covered her mouth in surprise. “Oh my
gosh… What happened?”
Matt, Huy, and Shirley ran up to the
panda to check if it was okay. Alex stood behind Yessenia. Yessenia examined
the whole bridge before she took a step forward. “There are dark blotches all
around the bridge as if there was a battle here.”
“I didn’t even notice…” Alex
commented.
Huy held onto the panda. “Your
eyes…”
Shirley knelt down and asked the
panda, “You remind me of Peter… Are you Peter?”
“Animals can’t talk, idiot!!” Huy
yelled at her.
The panda spoke. “Yeah it’s me,
Peter…” He then coughed.
Huy threw Peter across the bridge in
fright. Shirley got up quickly. “Oh my! And you called me an idiot, Huy?”
“I-Impossible!” Huy clenched his
teeth.
Matt stared at Peter closely.
“You’re a panda?! What the heck!”
The other three students ran up to
them. Peter the panda continued to speak. “Back in Melvin, Omar found me in
this restaurant I was working in, called the ‘Imp Panda’.”
“So ironic.” Shirley joked.
“Jaime found Omar wandering in there
and mentioned how Omar has capabilities of being the strongest student in El
Monte. Jaime took out this weird shiny crystal and Omar avoided it but I
didn’t… so now I am a panda.”
Yessenia placed her hand over her
chin to think. “I see. So that means Jaime missed and he accidentally threw it
at Peter. I assume this elemental crystal was an animal transformation type.”
Shirley giggled. “Imagine Omar
turning into a panda… Hehe.”
Huy screamed at her, “This is no
time to be joking!”
Peter asked Shirley, “You know Omar
too?”
“We all should know him by now. We
all have been in El Monte High School for over a year now. The reason why it
seems like we don’t know certain people is because we’re always focused in our
little groups.”
Matt shook his head. “I guess you’re
right. I didn’t really notice Omar was in El Monte until a few months later.
And then Winny shows up. Eugh, she was freaky when I first met her.”
“Speaking of which, where is Winny?”
Alex wondered.
Peter yelled, “Anyway!” His
panda-like voice scared everybody but Yessenia. “Can I go back to the subject?”
The group became quiet. “I don’t know how to turn back into a human…”
Yessenia thought about it for a
moment and then she said to the group, “I think you need to be able to control
your powers. Everyone has their flukes and flaws.”
Shirley continued to joke around.
“Like Matt for example… I remember when he sucked so much when trying to
control his fire powers. It was so sad. He-…”
“SH! Don’t mention this times
again…” Matt felt humiliated.
“This was all when I wasn’t here…”
Amy said in the corner.
“Are you guys saying I can turn
back?” Peter felt happier.
“There should be a way and it is
most likely possible, Peter.” Said Yessenia with a guaranteed tone.
“Well good!” Matt raised his fist up
in the air. “Are we ready to go to Wisteria yet?!”
Matt was about to run but Yessenia
grabbed his collar. “Wait!”
Matt fell to the ground from the
sudden pull. “Augh! What is it now?!”
“You do not know how many Potrero
enemies are down there in Wisteria right now!”
Matt became silent. Shirley shook
her head. “Yeah. We can’t just go barging into the battlezone with little
knowledge on who’s there and what’s going on. We have to devise a plan first
and attack them before they can outsmart us.”
Yessenia walked towards the edge of
the bridge to stare at the horizon of the sea. “How many enemies do we have at
the moment?”
Huy pointed out fingers, “There is
Jaime obviously.”
“William too.” Shirley added. “I
want to have a word with him.”
“Does Michael count?” Amy
contributed. Yessenia nodded.
“What about Van?” Alex wondered.
“Isn’t she an enemy?”
“I think she’s good now…” Shirley
replied.
Yessenia thought about it for a
moment. “She fought Maggie, and Maggie is considered part of the CORP soldiers.
Who knows what happened to them… They could still be somewhere near the Floral
Waterscape.”
“You guys met Van and Maggie?” Matt
was surprised. “Why didn’t you bring them along?”
Shirley crossed her arms in
annoyance. “Didn’t you listen? They have been fighting each other but we
haven’t heard from them since then. Who knows what could have happened to
them.”
Matt finally added, “Well whatever
then. We all forgot about the most important person: Tony.” He also took notice
of Jenny back at Elk Village but he suspected that she was not an enemy. He
remembered his conversation with her.
~~~
“J-Jenny?”
Matt was confused about where she came from.
Jenny was
blushing. Her hair was perfectly straightened and she was tall. She had her
hands cupped together in front of her to indicate that she is harmless. “Matt…
There you are.” Jenny took a step forward but Matt took a step back in
response. “Wait, Matt.”
“Why are
you here all of a sudden?”
Nix said to
Matt, “Don’t ask her questions. I can feel a strange essence coming from her.”
“Well
still…” Matt was pondering with the thought. “Jenny is a really nice person, at
least from what I saw last year.”
Nix frowned.
“Hm… I don’t know then…”
Jenny
disregarded their conversation. “Please, we need you.”
“Who’s
‘we’?”
“My boss.”
Matt began
to notice Jenny’s clothing. It was the same outfit from the organization that
Jaime, Tony, and Michael were wearing. Matt could barely remember that
William’s outfit looked the same as well from the Floyde ship a long while ago.
“Your boss… who is it?”
“That does
not matter. Matt, please trust me. I…”
Matt
clenched his fists. “I-I don’t care if it’s for your boss.”
“Don’t you
trust me? I haven’t done anything all last year to you.”
Matt became
silent. Nix whispered, “Don’t give in to her this easily…”
“But…” Matt
thought about it carefully. “Jenny, I’m sorry. I can’t do this!” Matt ran off
and Nix followed.
Jenny was
still blushing from the heat. She was sad. “Matt…”
~~~
“What is wrong?” Yessenia could
notice Matt’s troubled expression.
Matt snapped out of remembrance.
“What? Oh, nothing. Anyway, so we have a total of six possible enemies, right?”
Peter was sitting down nearby the
group. “Shirley Ma is another.”
The whole group became surprised.
Amy covered her mouth in fear, “No way… that can’t be.”
Shirley jumped. “Aha! That makes
sense now!” The group turned to her as she continued, “Remember when I told
you, Yessenia, about how everything in El Monte suddenly froze? Shirley Ma was
one of the ones who didn’t freeze. In fact, she was already gone. What does
this tell you?”
“Shirley Ma… I can only assume that
she could be in control of the time in El Monte.” Yessenia deduced. “What
confuses me is how she got the powers that Santi used to have.”
Matt became frustrated. “Someone,
with the same powers as Santi? That can’t be…”
“How can two people have the same
powers?” Alex asked.
Matt suddenly ran away from the
group towards Wisteria. “The answer is from them directly. We shouldn’t just
waste time standing around! Hurry up!!”
“M-Matt, wait!” Amy yelled in a kind
tone. She frowned. “He ran off…”
Shirley patted Amy’s shoulder. “It’s
okay. He’s just like that. We should follow him before he gets into danger on
his own.”
“That stubborn kid…” Alex sighed.
~~~
The group was headed towards
Wisteria now. Along the way, the group of seven could see a bunch of digicells
and other monsters surrounding the whole city of Wisteria. Nix appeared from
Matt’s spirit to witness the whole scene. Dark slimes and many CORP soldiers
were fighting against the Peridot soldiers.
Matt pointed up ahead, “Who are
those CORP soldiers fighting?”
Peter said to the group, “Those are
the Peridot soldiers. They keep their own army low-key and they have been only
in Wisteria all this time while the CORP soldiers spent time exploring the
whole continent.”
“So which side is protecting
Wisteria?” Huy asked.
Peter answered, “The Peridot
soldiers control most of the Druskane and Whistel continents. The Marconian
Continent is so large that the CORP soldiers themselves take up the whole area.
The only spot that hasn’t been claimed was Wisteria which is why war started.
The CORP soldiers assume that the Peridot soldiers will try to take the land
and expand itself throughout the whole Marconian Continent, causing the CORP
soldiers to slowly die down.”
Shirley held her hand over her
chest. “That’s crazy… shouldn’t Wisteria belong to the CORP soldiers? Wisteria
is a part of this Marconian Continent.”
“That would make sense, but Wisteria
was its own country before war. They were independent much like the other
continents besides the Marconian, Druskane, and Whistel continents. There are
only two other continents but they’re so small that they have become irrelevant
to the world of Elsiya.”
“Nice!” Huy cheered. “Where did you
get all of this information?”
Peter took out his bamboo stick. “I
did a lot of exploring and eavesdropping while I ran off as a panda. Now, it’s
time for us to fight!”
Matt created a fist of flames. “You
got that right!” Although, Alex and Amy were slightly afraid to fight.
Shirley grabbed Matt’s sleeve.
“Wait. Why bother fighting these soldiers when we’re actually trying to look
for the main people here: the students that we know.”
Yessenia added, “And these students
happen to be most of the lieutenants. Tony, William, Michael, Shirley Ma, Van,
Maggie, and Jaime are all of the people we are watching after.”
The seven students along with Nix
began to rush towards the entrance of Wisteria. They were a little less than a
mile away, but there were many enemies along the way. Yessenia created a
Constricted Wind to bind every enemy nearby. Matt threw a bunch of fireballs
and Nix spat fire. Nearby, Shirley created an Icicle Rain. Alex splashed water
to keep the enemies distracted and blinded while Huy only punched the enemies
that were in his way. He could not use his boosting powers in a crowd. Amy made
the grass grow which annoyed the soldiers while Peter attacked with his bamboo
stick.
“Do not let any of the enemies touch
you!” Yessenia commanded, telling the whole group from afar.
“Gotcha!” Shirley giggled. “This is
pretty easy especially when most of the soldiers are attacking each other!”
Amy screamed out, “In thy Earth lies
the deepest roots, erupt in the gusty wind! Grass Hurricane!” Amy’s spell
created a windy atmosphere nearby her and the roots below the area in front of
her grew immediately. Many of the soldiers tripped and Shirley’s Icicle Rain
inflicted a good amount of damage on them.
Shirley gave Amy a high-five, “Yes!
Our combination works well!”
Yessenia created a Gust Slash which
created a wave of wind flying towards the many enemies in front of her. With
this, Matt threw a few fireballs to combine with her Gust Slash to inflict more
damage against the enemies. “Perfect!” Matt said with pride.
Peter squeezed his bamboo stick and
a powder of sugar appeared. “Sugar Rush! Hope this blinds you!”
Alex followed up with an Aqua Blaze that
splashed along with the powder to create a blinding sea of water. Many slimes
evaporated while the soldiers screamed in pain because of their eyes being
burnt.
Huy punched a few soldiers but one
CORP soldier from behind slashed his chest. “ERGH!” He yelled. He knelt onto
the ground, bleeding.
The whole group turned around
quickly. Matt clenched his teeth as he said out loud, “Huy!!”
