We are
finally into the last episode of the Marconian Continent Arc! Throughout the
whole arc, Matt and Venus had to rush through soldiers to find Jaime. They
decided to split in Elk Village because Venus was too heartbroken to move on.
Amy decided to take her place and the two of them headed towards Death Maze.
Yessenia and Alex went from the southern end, meeting all sorts of people along
the way such as Michael, Shirley, Huy, Van, Maggie, and William. After a few
confessions, the group appeared in Death Maze as well. Because of this, both of
the groups met together and journeyed the rest of the way towards Wisteria. The
two groups are now headed towards Wisteria from the Meteo Bridge where the real
battle begins!
Episode 156 – In the Midst of War, Welcome to Wisteria
Huy knelt onto the ground, bleeding
from where he got the cut on his chest. The cut ripped through the coat that he
was wearing and even through the shirt underneath. He coughed, trying to grasp
the pain. After all, of the seven students, he was most likely able to bear the
pain. Yessenia was the first to head towards his direction. She was smart
enough to make sure that no soldiers were in her way. Matt and Shirley knocked
out any enemies who tried to stop her. Eventually, Yessenia reached Huy a few
meters away. “Huy, hang in there!”
“D-Don’t worry about me. This is
nothing!”
Amy was out in the open where there
were no enemies. “This is terrible… Everyone, protect Huy!”
Peter reached him after Yessenia.
“Cover him!”
Alex splashed water all over the
place to distract any enemies trying to attack Huy. Huy watched as everybody
was fighting to protect him. “What… Why…” He never knew that his own friends
would go this far to save him. “You don’t have to…”
Shirley began feeling angry that
these soldiers and monsters attacked Huy. She created a Hailstone which was
like an Icicle Rain, but the area of effect was much more distant and the ices
were larger. Meanwhile, Alex made a bubble grow in midair.
It was an Aqua Ball in which would
pop when it gets larger. Using this method, the large water bubble would trap
enemies into itself and it will eventually pop, causing an exploding damage on
the enemies. These students were getting stronger the more they gave each other
love and care.
Matt was the next to attack. His
aura turned orange quickly and then a large flaming snake appeared from below
the ground. “This is what happens if you attack us again!” The large serpent
flew towards every enemy nearly, burning them in flames. “Fire Serpent, go for
it!”
It was not too long until the area
was clearing. Yessenia took a step forward. “Do not use too much power! We are
barely entering Wisteria and there are many lieutenants that we have to watch
out for.”
Shirley knelt down. “That Hailstone…
It was too much for me.”
Matt calmed down immediately.
“Ergh…” He said, trying to keep his balance.
Alex coughed. “We can’t fall now…!”
Luckily, there were no monsters
left. Matt tried to stand up still. “You’ve got to be kidding me… We can’t be
that tired so fast!” His clothes were torn during the battle along with
everybody else, but these cuts were mild. “We’re going in now!” Matt tried to
rush but Yessenia used Constricted Wind on him.
“You cannot just barge in on them!
Firstly, there could be a bunch of traps if they are luring us into Wisteria in
the first place. Secondly, Huy can barely stand.”
Huy was sweating. Amy covered her
mouth in fright, “I-I hope he’s going to be okay…”
Yessenia thought about it for a
moment. “Amy, can you create plant herbs?”
Amy gasped. “M-Me?” She blushed. “I
don’t know if I can…”
Yessenia explained, “If Tony and
Jaime’s theory is true, then it would work.”
“What theory?” Shirley wondered.
“The smarter you are, the more you
are capable of learning new skills without trouble.” Yessenia replied.
Shirley giggled hysterically. “Eheh…
It took Matt and me over a year just to learn some cool new skills…”
“Anyway,” Yessenia crossed her arms.
“the lieutenants are probably watching us rest now. They cannot do anything
though. As you can see, the city is widespread and being on the outskirts, it
is easier for us to fight freely. In the city, they know we would be worried
about accidentally destroying hometowns so they are waiting for us to enter
before fighting. On the other hand… if we wait any longer, the city will
worsen.”
Matt stomped his foot and then he
clenched his fists with anger. “Then what the hell are we waiting for?! THAT
CITY! It’s burning into bits!!” Matt’s aura began to glow.
“Mister Giant Man!” Nix called.
While Amy was trying to create fresh
herbs from the dying bush on the ground, she turned around and said to Matt,
“Please calm down, Matt. We shouldn’t get mad.” She said kindly.
Matt tried to calm down. Listening
to Amy was the easiest thing to do. Peter sniffed the air. “Huh?” Peter wondered.
Shirley and Yessenia turned to him, wondering what he was sniffing about. “I
can definitely smell something suspicious.”
“How far can pandas even smell?”
Shirley placed her hands on her hips.
Peter replied with easy, “Roughly
about 417 feet away. It varies though. This is such an amazing gift.”
“Sometimes I wonder how you even
know these things…” Shirley sighed.
Amy interrupted their conversation.
“I-I think I got it! It’s not much, but I got something.” Amy stood up to give
Yessenia the herbs. “Here you go.”
Yessenia grabbed the herbs and then
she tried to blender them with her wind powers. “Let us see what happens when
we mash the herbs together into a soup base.” Shirley, Matt, Alex, and Nix
looked over Yessenia’s shoulder in amazement. Yessenia suddenly yelled, “Alex!
I need your help.”
“Wah- me?” Alex stuttered.
“SOUP. We are making soup! Add some
water! Matt, warm it up!”
Shirley giggled, “And I’ll put some
ice in it!”
Peter looked away in shame, “I don’t
think there would be a point in putting ice if Matt’s going to warm it up… And
soup for the sickened people is not meant to be icy cold.”
Shirley frowned. “I just wanted to
look useful…”

In Wisteria, Tony stood on a
highway. The highway was still intact compared to most of the city. Jaime was
nearby, incorporating more shadowed slimes. “So, you did not succeed in
activating the Grand Cradle for the Marconian Continent, did you?”
“Amy and Matt were able to stop it
before it could successfully activate. Don’t worry. We can always go back to
it. Should I go back to the Boral Marshes now?”
“Not right now. We need as many
lieutenants here as we can in order to fight against the rest of the students.
Whoever is the last one standing between those seven students should be able to
withstand against South El Monte’s students.”
Jaime thought about Omar and
Yessenia. “Isn’t it obvious that is the strongest in each group?”
“By that, you mean?”
“Well… What are the odds? You and
Omar are tough matches, and that’s all that matters!”
Shirl suddenly appeared from thin
air nearby. “All sightings initiated, Tony.”
“Shirley Ma.” Tony said with a grin.
“Slow down the time of the monsters’ destruction towards Wisteria.”
“Yes.” Shirl answered without
question.
“As for William, I’m going to have
to contact him.” Tony mentioned.
“What are you planning to do?” Jaime
asked.
Tony laughed. “Haha! What else? Once
all of the students arrive, I will make sure that none of them are put
together.”
Jaime took a step back. “So if they
divide, do you want us all to split up as well?”
“That only seems logical. If you
find the others, please alert them to prepare. This battle isn’t going to end
nicely. After all, Wisteria is the only place left for these students to
venture through in the Marconian Continent.”
“Alright. Got it, sir!” Jaime
saluted and then he left the area.
Tony pointed towards the ground
below the highway. “Shirl, I’m sure you can take care of the rest.”
“Anything you say.” Shirl said
without emotion. She turned around and headed towards the bottom floor of the
highway while tears ran down her eyes. Even with the tears, she was smiling
which was kind of strange…

A few minutes throughout Wisteria,
Van, Maggie, and Jenny were all together. William was in front of them. Tony
teleported to where William was. It seemed as though Tony had mimicked Shirl’s
time powers and teleported himself to William’s whereabouts. Tony began to tell
William about the initial plan once Matt and his group arrived in Wisteria.
William shook his head, but the three girls could not understand what they were
whispering to each other about. As Tony teleported away, William turned to the
three girls.
Van seemed dazed, Maggie was
ecstatic, and Jenny was frowning. William pointed at three areas surrounding
them. “You three are going to split up.”
The three girls said, “Yes!” at the
same time but with their respective moods.
Maggie made claws appear from her
fingers as she licked them. “It’s time to play.”
Van already walked away and only
Jenny was concerned. William crossed his arms. “I don’t understand what the
deal is with you, Jenny.”
“Huh?” Jenny said innocently.
“My soul-animation powers do not
accurately change you for some reason.” William’s intention was to control
Jenny into doing anything he says, but her emotions stayed the same. She was
still giving a worried expression.
“Does that really matter?” Jenny
questioned. “I will do whatever you say, but it is terribly wrong to listen to
what Tony says.”
William tried to animate her soul
again. “Why won’t your emotions change?! Why is it easier for Van and Maggie?”
Jenny began walking away. “I will do
whatever you say. But just know that it is wrong.”
William was about to animate the
ground in order to stop her from her tracks, but William had to think about the
consequences if he attacked his own comrades. “That damn girl… My powers don’t
seem to work on her completely. That’s not important for now then, as long as
she’s doing whatever I say.” William began chuckling and he headed towards the
front entrance of Wisteria.

The herb was eventually done. Huy
voluntarily consumed the herb soup and they waited for a few minutes. Shirley
had her hand over her forehead. “Man… it’s barely around noon and you can see
the sky fogging up from all of the debris and stuff…”
Matt was shaking with impatience.
Amy calmly said to him, “We will be okay, Matt. You promised to save Wisteria,
right?”
Matt became hopeless. “I promised a
lot of things, but…”
Amy raised her fist to try to act
tough. “Well, breaking promises is not the Matt that I know! You’ll make this promise, no matter what. I’m going to root
for you too!”
Matt began laughing at her effort to
fix the mood. “Thanks, Amy! That really does make me feel better.” Matt turned
around to the group. “Guys… I’m so glad that we all finally joined together.”
Huy sat down with bandages over his chest. He could still smile. Everybody else
listened carefully. “This might seem stupid and all, but it does make me feel
better that I have friends here to support me.”
Amy shook her head. “Of course!”
Matt continued, “And whatever
happens, always know that we shouldn’t give up. You guys said it yourselves:
there must be about seven of those lieutenants, most of them somehow being
Potrero students. It can be really dangerous and as long as we all stick
together, nothing can stop us. I’m sure Santi…”
Shirley frowned. “Matt…” She knew
Matt could still not get over Santi’s sacrifice.
“Agh, it doesn’t matter now. What’s
done is done! Santi is long gone and there is no way for him to come back. Besides,
he doesn’t want us to constantly think about his death.”
Yessenia chuckled, “I agree. He is
not that kind of guy who is selfish.”
“What I learned from all of this is
‘courage’. The courage to keep going, and to keep fighting.”
Alex looked away, “Yeah, yeah…” He
whispered.
Huy elbowed Alex, “Aw come on, he’s
got a point here!”
Peter raised his bamboo stick, “If
you want to show that you’re going to keep on fighting to do what’s right, then
show it! I think it’s about time to go!”
Nix yelped, “Yeeeeah! Let’s go!” All
of the other students besides Huy and Yessenia jumped and cheered.
Huy stood up on his own. “Don’t
worry, Yessenia. I’m fine this time around. I’ll be more careful, thanks.”
Yessenia watched everybody’s eager
to move on. “Hmph.” She closed her eyes and everyone became silent. She
suddenly gave a smiling grin. “You all sure do have a bunch of guts. I guess we
should not waste any more time then.” She pulled her sleeves up. “We cannot let
them destroy Wisteria any further. No more students should be getting elemental
powers either!”
Shirley took out two scrunchies from
her left pocket. “It’s time for us to get serious!” She began typing two
ponytails on her hair. Amy stood behind Matt while feeling a little worried.
Peter held tightly onto his bamboo stick and Huy raised his fists into the air
to indicate that he is ready. Alex opened his Grimoire book before the group
was about to head into Wisteria.
Matt smacked his fists together.
“Alright CORP lieutenants, it’s time to show you who’s boss!” All seven
students including Nix stood right in front of the Wisterian territory. The
wind was blowing through the field before the storm began…

Shirley:
Why am I always stuck with you?!
Alex: I’m
alone now… And this weird girl is here!
Peter:
You’re not the only one with some weird girl!
Matt:
Right when we enter Wisteria, we are all forced to split apart already?! Next
time on episode 157, The Trio-Sisters Return, Battle of the Animal
Manipulator!!
Alex:
How is she beating me?! She doesn’t look strong!
Peter:
This girl is crazy!
