Episode 61 – Possessions of a Shrouded Cloudy Mist!

            While Shirley was in the starting point of Echoville, Matt and Danny had already made it to the jungle using the cloud bridge. There was no welcome for the two of them because Siren had already been occupied with Yessenia. Matt watched the shores from both sides and the straight path up ahead. “Damn it, where do we go now?”
            Danny grabbed onto Matt’s arm, “Let’s not split up. I-I think the shores are useless. Let’s go up ahead.”
            Matt shook Danny off of him, “Stop holding onto me. You’ll slow us down. We’ll just go up ahead then. I guess it won’t hurt us to try.” They both began running up ahead, hurrying to find Yessenia and hoping that she is in the jungle.
            Towards the center of the jungle, there was shown ‘Sector 6’. Matt and Danny came to a stop in order to examine the sign. “What is this?” Danny seemed confused. “Why does it say ‘sector 6’?”
            All the sudden, a knife flew passed Danny and it stabbed onto the dirt floor. Danny froze in surprise and Matt turned around after hearing the knife fall, “Hm? What’s wrong?”
            Danny slowly pointed at the knife while shaking, “T-That thing just… flew down really fast right passed by me!”
            Matt took a step back after turning around, “I-It did?!”
            “A fine tactic, don’t you agree?” said an unfamiliar voice. Matt and Danny both looked at the tree above Danny. “Hi!~ Oh my goody, what brings you two boys here?”
            Matt took notice of the knife on the ground, so he readied his palms, “Where is Yessenia?”
            “Who in the world…?” the man seemed confused. He was wearing a white pirate suit along with a pilot hat. He had a scimitar on his right hand. “I have no idea who you are talking about, but my fair lady had asked me to protect this place of any intruders. Care to explain?” Both Matt and Danny were speechless and the man laughed, “Hahaha, this is too easy! I am Captain Silver, one of the twelve guardians of Echoville’s jungle. It looks like you two will be dying first!”
            Matt quickly said, “Danny, make a run for it!”
            They both began running but Silver threw his scimitar at them. Danny turned around and used his ground powers to raise the ground behind him as a shield. Silver sighed, “Damn, I missed.”
            Matt continued running. He became tired and then he sat down, resting. “Phew, that was a close one, huh Danny. Let’s teleport back- Eh?” Danny was nowhere to be seen. “Did he teleport out already? I guess he’s ahead of the game then.” He took out his cellphone but he stopped to notice two girls in the mist heading towards a village. Matt scratched his head, “Who were they? Yessenia?” He could have only seen a little glimpse of her before she disappeared into the mist with the other girl. “Wait!”
 ~~~
            The mist made the village disappear. It was a strange cloudy dimension that brought Yessenia into a place that no other may find. Yessenia took sight of the whole misty village. “Siren is your name, I am guessing? Where am I?”
            Siren whispered, “Sh, we must not interrupt the villagers.”
            “How many villagers are there exactly?”
            “Plentiful. Come, we must go to the temple and pray to Revel who once died a heroic death for us all.”
            “Revel?” All of the knowledge of Echoville was beyond her.
            Entering the temple, Yessenia could see lots of candles on the other end of the room. Siren opened her arms towards the candles, “You may enter and pray to Revel.”
            “What for?” Yessenia asked.
            “Any man or woman who enters the village of Echoville must pray to the divine hero. I will teach you of him once we finish the prayer.”
            “Oh, alright then. (Damn, what is wrong with this lady?)”
            At the small area nearby the candles, Siren took a few steps back. Yessenia was asked to close her eyes, and so she did. Siren opened up her palms. Yessenia felt the movement of Siren’s arms, so she quickly opened her eyes and turned around to see Siran sending out echoing signals towards Yessenia. She jumped away from the ritual area and she was in a battling stance, “Screw this. What the hell do you take me for?”
            Siren frowned, “You are objecting to the holy ritual of Revel. Do you reject our sacred hero?”
            “What sacred hero? You were going to send some crappy sounds towards me. What the hell does that do?”
            Siren grabbed her harp which turned into a snake. It flew towards Yessenia and Yessenia summoned her blunt sword to cut it in half. However, the snake was too fast, so Yessenia could only jump away to avoid it. She rolled onto the opposite end of the room and she stood up with again, another battling stance with her sword, “Stay back!”
            Siren began to laugh evilly, “Huhuh, how pitiful you are. Those who resent Revel must not survive.” Siren sent out a wind of screeching sound towards Yessenia but Yessenia blocked it by throwing wind right back at her. Siren covered her face. As the wind stopped, Siren smiled, “What tremendous power. You are perfect for the sacrificial altar!” Her snake turned into a harp and Siren began playing music.
            Yessenia stopped, “Ugh- No!” She knelt down and her mind was shutting down slowly. She tried to reach into her pocket for her cellphone but it was too late…
 ~~~
            While Matt was still wandering around the area of what used to be the village a few moments ago, a cloud of mist started to appear. Matt covered his face from all of the wind’s impact. Once the wind was over, Matt watched in front of him. Out of the blue, Yessenia was the only one standing at a distance, facing him. Matt smiled, “Yessenia, you’re safe! Listen, about earlier, I just wanted to say…”
            Yessenia slowly pointed her index finger at Matt, “Die…” A gust of wind began appearing and it was swung towards Matt.
            Matt jumped to the side. He fell to the ground, rolling. “Ack, what the heck was that for, Yessenia?! I want to apologize for what I’ve done.”
            Yessenia said bluntly and monotonously, “I am afraid that is too late now. Your words are meaningless.”
            “W-What?!” Matt became worried. “Yessenia…”
            Yessenia summoned her blunt sword, “Give up.” She took a step forward, then another step, slowly. At the same time, Matt took steps backwards. Matt could only use his fire powers to defend himself since it was Yessenia that he was battling against.
            “Are you possessed, Yessenia? What is wrong with you?”
            “Possession? Is that how you think of me?” Yessenia said angrily. “Is possession your reason to blame for my personality?”
            “Actually, yes! Snap out of it already.”
            “You are as blind as ever.” She raised her sword. Matt’s tactic for the moment was to constantly defend himself.
 ~~~
            Danny reached another area in the jungle. He read a sign showing ‘sector 2’. He heard a hissing noise. “U-Uh oh…” He turned around as fast as he could with a ground shield just like before with Captain Silver. A large snake with a woman’s upper body appeared to have crashed into the ground shield.
            “You vile being!” yelled Lamia. “You shall pay for that!!” Lamia whipped her tail in front of her and a stinger appeared out of the end of her tail.
            Danny screamed in horror, “NOO! Please, don’t!” Danny reached into his pocket to get his cellphone.
            “Don’t move, you wretched human!!” Lamia said in a loud manner. “Why do you humans come back now?”
            “What? I was just looking for a friend. I-I’ll leave after I find her, is that okay?”
            “Heh. ‘Is that okay’? What kind of question is that? We plan to kill all humans in sight before we will never know if any of you will reproduce in the future. We do not want to suffer any longer!”
            Danny said as a joke, “But you’re making me suffer.”
            “Silence!” Lamia threw the stinger towards Danny. Danny yelped in horror and the stinger suddenly stopped. “What?! What just happened?!” Lamia looked around, wondering how her stinger stopped.
            “Killing a boy of innocence is just as bad as murder can get.” Santi appeared behind Lamia. “Don’t you think?”
            Danny cried, “Santi, you’re here!!”
            Lamia said to Santi, “Tch, who the hell are you? Get away from here.” Lamia threw another stinger at Santi but Santi opened his palms to make the stinger stop. “What in the world?!”
            Santi pointed at Lamia, “You will tell me all of what you know about Echoville. What the hell is going on in this area? Why are there sectors and why are some areas of different habitants of each other?”
            Danny cheered for Santi. “Yahoo! Just freeze her already! She’s evil!”
            “Are you trying to fish out answers from me?” Lamia began chuckling.
            Due to her suspicious chuckling, Santi focused on her. He fixed his glasses with his left hand while his right hand was in a position to freeze Lamia at any moment, “Is there a problem with that?”
            “Heh. Well you’re not getting away with that.” She looked up, “Go!”
            At the moment Lamia commanded someone to ‘go’, Santi took out his cellphone from his pocket with ease, “I knew this was coming. Danny, follow me!” Santi pressed the ‘home’ button on his cellphone to vanish away.
            Danny took out his cellphone and Lamia turned to him, “What?! Oh no you don’t!” Danny pressed the ‘home’ button before Lamia’s stinger could reach him. Both Santi and Danny were now back in the real world. Lamia slammed her tail on the ground, “Argh, damn those bastards got away! Why didn’t you shoot them down fast enough, Olom?!”
            Olom jumped from a tree trunk, “These gunshots are no ordinary gunshots. When I shoot, it will cause a huge explosion. Although I am using a gun, I fit more of a blademaster. The bigger guy was relatively close to you while the taller one would have stopped me right away.”
            “How would you know that?!”
            “You were not able to tell? My zoom-in on the sniper let me see close enough to notice that the taller man constantly looked to his upper left corner. He used the reflections of his glasses in order to see me.”
            “Damn that human!!” Lamia said with her clenching teeth.
 ~~~
            A shrouded mist of clouds appeared before Shirley. She froze them, causing them to heavily fall to the ground. “What is wrong with this place?!”
            “Stop it, I said stop it!” a joker voice was heard.
            Shirley stopped. “H-Huh? Who’s there?!”
            “I am Sirius, leader of clouds! How may I be of service?”
            “Get these stupid clouds out of my way. I am looking for that place!”
            “That place you say? Which place?”
            Shirley pointed at Sirius, “You are in my way! I am talking about the village that you stupid idiots live in!”
            “Excuse me?!” said Sirius. “My name is Sirius and I am mighty serious!”
            Shirley began walking casually, “Lameee.”
            “Hey, hey don’t walk away from me like that!” He threw a bunch of clouds towards Shirley.
            Shirley fell from the strong push of the clouds. Her bottom touched the dirt, “Ew… oh that is it! You’re going to pay!”
            Sirius summoned a bunch of misty clouds which surrounded Shirley. Shirley said with a careless tone, “Oh damn it. There’s no way of getting out of this…” She took her cellphone and she looked at the word ‘home’, “Ugh… I can’t believe I’ve failed to reach the village. I must come back right after this and find the place again.” She clicked the ‘home’ button.
            After about a few seconds, Sirius yawned, “Ah, it’s been getting lighter inside the clouds. I wonder if she died, hehe.” The clouds were drawn away and there was nothing. Sirius yelled, “WHAAA?!”
 ~~~
            Matt fell against a tree from the strong form of wind that Yessenia created. “You will not survive from my air tornado this time.” Yessenia was walking closer to Matt. “This is where you will die.”
            Matt did not want to escape to the real world yet, not without freeing Yessenia from her possessed form. “Stop it already, Yessenia… you’re not the same person as you usually were…”
            Yessenia stopped, “What makes you think that you have the authority to say such things about me?”
            “Just look at you! You’re dull as heck. Please, come back already. Sure, be scary like you usually are, but not this scary! We were stupid for taking your backpack and running away with it. I just don’t want you to stay like this because then that means you ended our friendship with despair right before getting possessed! All I am asking for from you is to come back to your senses. I am not don’t talking to you.”
            Yessenia clenched her teeth, “You are idiotic. Your words do not account for anything.” She thrust her sword towards Matt but Matt moved away. Yessenia stabbed the tree behind Matt and she tried to pull it out. Matt had an idea. He grabbed Yessenia by the shoulder and he pressed the ‘home’ button on his cellphone. “This is the only way I can stop you!”
         Yessenia gasped, “Let go of me!” They both vanished back into the real world at the same time.
