The final world has finally opened up. The world of Edmund is gray and gloomy as ever. Memory losses have become an issue, but death is a more important factor to take note of. Each power wielder now has to face the truth as to why they are who they are. Are some born different? Many people would want to show their worth to the world while one may claim that saving the world is the most important ordeal to go through. Many students will show their impact and reason through existence, past, and of course, Rena’s storytelling. Of course, she has lots to tell but there is little time left. What will the group decide to do next in the world of Edmund…?
Episode 104 - Illusions of Despair, a Heartbroken Trade
On the last episode, Matt had to split away from Yessenia and Willy from a path leading to the top of the Tower of Despair. Meanwhile, Stan received a phone-call from Luther talking about the tower! Danny and Alex were in the tower’s hallways but in an attempt to avoid some beastly digicells, they both decided to go up a vent in which Danny struggled through. Matt finally arrived in the room where Winny fought Mariel. Winny fainted completely as if her life had been over… Shirley and Santi decide to take a shortcut up the tower however going up a bunch of vines seemed risky. There was no time to be waste though! Lastly, Matt reached the final room with Mariel and they both gained a vision of the past of 12,700,000,000 B.C. where Olympia took place. After the vision was over, Mariel and Matt spoke about a chance to save the world of Edmund until Luther appeared behind Mariel with a gun. Then, a gunshot could be heard…

Mariel gave a soft smile after she stopped having her eyes opened wide. She did not say a word. A small stream of blood began to pour out the side of her lips, falling onto her knees. Matt watched her while he was shaking with enormous fear. The young girl fell flat onto the ground and she moved a little. Matt knelt down. He shivered and slowly had both his hands hovered over his head, “No…”
Mariel tried her best to face Matt even if she was on the floor. “Matt…” Luther only stood there, watching with darkness covering his eyes.
Matt ran towards Mariel. He held onto her head softly, “Mariel, please, listen to me! You can still make it through. Just hang in there, please…!” Matt’s nose was burning. It was as if he was about to have tears run down his cheeks.
At that moment, Yessenia and Willy arrived behind Matt. “We are finally here!” Yessenia exclaimed.
Willy pointed, “L-Look!” Yessenia saw Matt kneeling beside the fallen girl, Mariel. She gasped.
“What in the world happened…?!” Yessenia became extremely surprised. “This cannot be!”
Santi broke through the windows from the side of the room. Shirley jumped in afterwards. She squealed at him, “Oh how could you jump in first?! Are you a man for making a perfectly beautiful woman risk her life falling down like that?”
Santi looked away, “I am sorry, geez. Look, there’s Luther!”
Shirley saw Luther and then the rest of the group beside him, “Oh… wait.”
Last came Danny and Alex popping in from up above the vents. Danny fell and then Alex bounced on Danny’s stomach after. Alex slid off of Danny, “Phew! We landed safe!”
Danny got angry, “That’s because…!” He took sight of everybody, “Huh?”
Alex turned as well and the both of them tried to figure out what is going on. Alex took a step forward, “Wait a minute… Is Mariel okay?” His voice softened in horror. “She’s going to be okay, right?”
Matt looked at Alex but nothing was said. Alex could see Matt’s eyes of despair. Danny ran ahead for Mariel. “No way! No!” Luther floated backwards towards the edge of the room. There stood Stan and Jen in the darkness. Danny began falling with tears as well as Alex. “Mariel!”
Mariel tried to speak up, “Danny? Alex? Everyone?” The rest of the group did not want to say a word. “I want…ed to thank you all… for being awesome friends… with me.” She said to Danny, “I know I’ve bossed you around… too much this year… but you still came here… for me… And, no matter how weird… you are… you are still… the nicest guy I’ve ever… met.” She then said to Matt, “Who would have thought… that you would come for me. I know that… we’re not close, but… remember to keep our promise… to stop Luther, without me… I’m sure you can do it. I will always remember… that pathetic sensitive side of you… Heh heh…” As for Alex, Mariel added, “I’m sorry I’ve been yelling at you… so many times.” She sniffed and tears came out a lot more when she spoke to Alex, “You’re the closest friend I’ve ever had…! Remember all of the… fun times we’ve had as… band geeks in middle school? Remember… how we would always hang out together… like we used to early in… high school? If only I was… nicer to you… if only…” She changed the subject, “I’m sorry, for having to… see all of this. If only you had the power… to fight against Luther, then… Then…!” Her voice began to crack.
Danny grabbed Mariel’s left arm, “Mariel!”
Alex shook his head, “Don’t tell me you’re…”
Mariel closed her eyes and she left go of Danny’s hand, “Thank… you…” Her body became completely motionless.
Matt opened his eyes wide. “That’s it…” He stood up and said to Luther, “You’re going to pay. After what you did…!” A reddish aura appeared around him but it was getting darker.
Santi jumped, “W-Wait, hold on!”
Matt became uncontrollably angry. Danny was in enough pain, so he was not able to fight. Shirley readied her palms while Yessenia took out her blunt sword. Yessenia yelled to her group, “Come on everybody, we are going to take this bastard down once and for all!”
Matt threw a fireball at Luther but he vanished. He quickly appeared behind Danny and Alex. Shirley threw a giant ice piece at him, “Oh no you don’t!”
Luther vanished again and Yessenia said angrily, “He is just going to do the same thing over again!”
Luther appeared in the corner of the room nearby Yessenia, “Disappear!” Before anybody could react, Luther threw a dark orb at Yessenia. She got electrocuted and then she fell to the ground in immense pain.
“ERGH! Why…” She said.
Shirley spun in a circle and then she opened her palms, “Icicle Rain! Take that!” A small cloud appeared above Luther very quickly and ice began pouring. All the ice slid off of Luther, however. Matt glided and then he tried to punch Luther with a flaming fist. Luther only vanished away and then he appeared next to Stan and Jen again.
Matt flew back onto ground level, “Damn it! Nothing is working!”
Shirley turned around and she noticed that Santi did not even have his scimitar out, “What the heck are you doing, Santi?”
Santi seemed a bit too traumatized at the fact that he would be fighting against his former master. Luther laughed in a demonic tone, “Ah hah hah hah! Mister Vallejo back there seems a bit too fleshed out.” Winny was also in the back, trying to crawl into the room slowly but she was still in pain.
Willy stood behind Santi, “Mister! Please get my sister back, Luther has her!”
Santi gasped, “Our sister…?!”
“Oh, you want your sister? My pleasure!” Luther said hysterically. “Under your command, I will surely do for you!” Two visions appeared from above him. One was Rena’s spirit while the other was Stinna’s spirit.
“Grace!” Santi yelled.
“Oh? So that is her real name that you are mourning over?” Luther laughed, “This is a joyous reunion to all of you!”
Grace looked over at Willy, the younger version of Santiago, “Please… live on. Do not stay under the hands of Luther!”
Luther made her spirit disappear, “You’re done for!!”
Santi and Willy yelped at the same time, “Augh!”
Santi stomped, “H-Hand her over!”
“Are you trembling?” Luther asked. “No matter. Here, here she is!” A dark aura appeared in front of Luther. Jen’s eyes were frightened at the whole sight. Stan was only smiling. In the midst of the dark aura, a large beast with one arm and hollow eyes appeared.
Shirley took a step back, “Oh my goodness that is way too gross! What the heck is that?!”
“This is the remaining piece still left in this ‘Grace’ woman, Stinna. Her spirit has gone to the other world. Just. Like. That.”
Winny from behind everybody explained, “You used up… all of their energy from the capsules?!”
“Not all of Rena’s. She’s a Survor, just like I am! Ha ha ha! Now, Stan, watch carefully as these pathetic students die away like ants!”
Stan grinned, “Die, like ants?” Stan’s eyes became more red than ever, “That sounds… pleasant!”
Jen frowned, “Pleasant deaths… horrible, but a brilliant scheme indeed.”
Santi took out his scimitar, “She is two times our own height! Shirley, Matt, weaken her, but do not kill her. I will take care of the rest!”
Matt nodded, “Alright!” He began to glide in flames.
Shirley mumbled, “Hrm… what do you mean you will take care of the rest?”
“Just follow along!” Santi commanded. “It seems as though right now only you two can battle.”
Luther made a large royal chair appear for himself, along with Stan and Jen as well, “Now, watch carefully. This is like the grand festival! All we need is food, bwa ha ha ha!”
Santi jumped up onto the beast’s arm and then he attacked the shoulders with the pommel and grip part of the scimitar, “Wake up, Graciela!” Shirley froze the beast’s legs while Matt burned the arms. “Grace, come on! It is me, Santiago Vallejo!” The beast only growled loudly.
Yessenia said while she was on the floor, “Calling out to her as Earth’s Santiago is not going to work! Willy, you must be the one to call out to her!”
Willy shook his head, “B-But she’s not Grace! Grace would never attack people like you guys! She’s too good!”
Yessenia was on her knees. She grabbed onto Willy’s shoulders, “Listen. You have to step up and understand that she is just possessed. There may be a way to bring her back!”
Willy screamed, “No! You heard Luther, didn’t you? He said she is already in the other world. That must mean she is in Heaven already and that she can’t come back. She won’t come back. She won’t!”
The beast screeched and it extended its arms to smack Matt and Shirley down onto the ground. Both students did fall, unfortunately. Yessenia said quickly, “Willy, please, just do it. For them!”
Willy closed his eyes and then he yelled as loud as he could, “GRACE!! Stinna! It is me, SANTIAGO VALLEJO!”
The beast slowed down. She turned to Willy and then she began to walk towards Willy, one step at a time. Shirley coughed in pain, “Ergh… Willy, run…!”
Yessenia objected. “No, wait a minute.”
“Willy’s going to get hurt if we don’t do anything!” Matt said in a panic. Santi fell off of the beast and he watched carefully.
The beast made a stop right in front of Willy. Willy was shaking in fear but he went on anyway, “Please, don’t fight anymore. I’m your brother and these are all of my friends.”
The beast was silent for a few seconds. It suddenly screeched, “RAAAAH!!!! Kiiiillllll… meeeee…”
“What?!” Santi said in anger, “We cannot do that!”
Willy nodded, “Can we? Grace is up there in Heaven, telling us to do something. If she wants to do it, then we have to grant her that wish, for her.”
“But… she’s your sister!” Shirley said.
Luther blasted a dark aura at the beast, “This is boring me to death! Let us get on with it!” The beast screeched once more and then it fell to the ground, vanishing into thin air.
Santi opened his eyes wide, “It was… a digicell?!”
Willy was in tears, “Sister…!”
At that moment, Mariel’s blue aura appeared around her. Danny crawled back a little, “W-What the?!”
Alex covered his eyes, “Augh! I can’t see!”
Luther laughed at the whole group, “Gah ha! Look how hopeless you all are! Now, it is time for you all to suffer the pain that I have gone through!!” He rose his hand and a dark purple aura appeared, “Winny, come here! You too Santiago, if your heart did not change. Heh!”
Winny vanished from her spot and then she reappeared next to Stan. She did not say a word. Yessenia paused, “Hold on a minute…”
Mariel’s spirit spoke, “Alex, I give you my strength…”
The blue aura appeared around Alex. He closed his eyes, feeling the pleasant aura surrounding him, “What is this…?” The aura dispersed within him.
Santi closed his eyes, “I have no purpose here anymore… I will go back to what was rightfully mine. Matt, there is one huge thing that I did not mention yet from the whole story I mentioned earlier.”
Matt scratched his head, “W-What’s going on?!”
Santi threw the scimitar onto the ground, “I am… not the Santi that you wanted to talk to. I was never the kind of friend you would prefer. Trust me on that.”
“Why? What are you talking about?”
“Our friendship… is over. I am going back to where I belong.”
Matt began bursting into tears, “Not you too… First Winny, and now you?"
Shirley panicked. “We’re going to lose!”
Santi did not say a word. He vanished and reappeared next to Winny. Luther smiled, “Hah, so that concludes it! We’re going to that place now. Ha ha ha! Come on, we have no time to waste. We will finally get what was rightfully ours!!”
They all vanished and the tower was colliding. Matt took out his cellphone, “Hmph. This isn’t the end!!”

Shirley: This new place that she left behind really is a beautiful place...
Yessenia: How is Danny taking all of this?
Alex: Oh he is... in the forest nearby. I think we should leave him alone for now.
Winny: You all have to be extra careful. Entering several worlds is no game!
Matt: What are you still doing here?! You betrayed us!
Jennifer: I am not the only one you can expect to find out who you really are, Matt.
Matt: We're back in El Monte but now summer school is starting and previous characters return to take a bigger role in this volume. Expect more new characters! Next time on episode 105, Summer Boundaries, Locked in Safekeeping!
Matt: Who... who is it?!
