Hi! My name is Nix and I will be teaching this class! People call me a very fat, round red chicken but I’m really a bird. They hate my voice because it’s very high pitched but who cares! Anyway, this section of every episode will now be miscellaneous information for the readers to learn! It can be a recap of the last episode or a recap of what the story’s about. Let’s begin with how it all started! Remember? Matt gained his fire powers after fainting. He slipped on oil and passed out. All of this became a mystery though! Where did these fire powers come from? Technically, Winny injected him with a needle of fire ability while he was asleep. Geez, lots of strange things happened without me!
Episode 118 – Sophomore Year Awakens, a Hero for Wisteria
In a world filled with flaw yet audacity, there lie many secrets untold. When one nation wants one land over the other, there is no telling when the dispute will end. Two separate unions are always at war and will not heed others’ calls until broken. This is the World of Elsiya. Wisteria, one of the most important kingdoms of Elsiya, arose to be the most gruesome society in which to live in. The once greenish roads became what is now just brownish rubble. Most of the corporation buildings were falling apart and all systems were destroyed. Sirens appeared here and there, repeating the same call, “please hold!” Flames burst everywhere onto the settlement throughout the park, the forest area, and even through roads of markets. Many people suffered and ran for their lives and the rest were held captive for the opposing army. Partial to such an example, there were a few civilians who were held onto trucks towards concentration camps nearby… Two civilians, for example…
“Truck number three, how goes your load?” A soldier asked. All of the trucks were filled with women of all ages and men in their young ages. They all wore the same peasant clothing worn as blankets.
Another soldier from the third truck responded, “All civilians safe and sound. We will send them off soon.”
A woman with two children struggled through the crowd of twenty peasants. “Safe and sound, you say? We are in grave danger! Whatever you are making us go through is just terrible!”
The soldier on the truck pointed a gun at her. The two children held tightly onto their mother as they closed their eyes. The soldier said with threat, “Silence, peasant! Would you rather die in shame than to survive in a camp where you can work for us temporarily?”
The mother stomped her foot. “But our home town is in danger! Why can’t we fight too?” The soldier only shrugged off her complaints. He put his gun away and continued on with his duties as a soldier.
A boy said to a girl, “Why are we here…?”
The girl responded, “We have nowhere else to go. We are stuck!”
“I-I don’t like it here…” The boy wore the blanket over his head. “I don’t like this feeling at all.”
“Just keep quiet. We have to wait for the perfect time.” The girl said in a serious tone. Yes, all of these peasants had nowhere else to go. It was not safe to stay in the broken city of Wisteria any longer, but even the women still vowed to fight for their home instead of working in a safer area with a bunch of demanding soldiers. Nothing else was of their choice…

The concentration camps were located nearby the West Bridge. There were two bridges: the West Bridge, and the East Bridge. Located between both of the bridges is the imperial capital of Enheizer. Of course, to the west of the West Bridge is Wisteria, the broken city engraved in war. At the edge of the West Bridge, five large trucks landed at a dusty area filled with sand and stuffy atmosphere. About a hundred peasants were sent out of the trucks and were led in a line towards the camps. The mother who had two children still hesitated to conform. The same soldier from before pointed the gun at her head, “I said silence!!”
The same boy from before, who had no reason to stay in such a place, ran in front of the mother. “S-Stop it!”
The girl called out for him, “What are you doing?!”
The soldier used his left hand to fix his hair. His expression showed the boy that there were no tolerances within the camp. The peasants were in no means to hesitate, otherwise they will strive through an instant death. He glared at the boy with a slight smile. “Hmph.” He began his duties by splitting the groups into different squads. One group had to rake a bunch of leaves while the other had to harvest more plants. Some even had to manually dig up areas for seedlings since there were not enough shovels. Almost every peasant was sweating excessively.
Both the boy and the girl were split apart from the mother and two children. The two children were sent into factories where there were simpler jobs, however still tiresome. The boy had to rake a bunch of leaves but he did not mind. The only thing going on in his mind was the fact that he had to stay in such a place when he could be getting an education instead. The boy’s voice began speaking as if he were narrating the situation…
“I never really liked school. The fact that school was too boring just ruined the whole point in me wanting to even go. I’ve always wanted more excitement and joy in my life by having the best times during high school, but… certain things kept happening. It never really stopped. Now that I am stuck here, I just want my boring life back. I want to know how it’s like to be a normal kid entering his second year of high school. What confuses me most is how things have changed so much within just a month. Everything feels… different.”
“Hey you, kid!” A soldier was holding onto a clipboard with a bunch of crumpled-up papers. He seemed to have verification forms of each peasant and he matched one of the pictures with the boy’s face. “Number 53, no?” The boy stared at the soldier as if he did not know what was going on. Well, he really was confused especially when he was actually raking. “Your name is not registered her, neither any other information put on here. You are being ordered to the conviction room to expand the information given.”
The boy turned to the girl who was Number 54. The girl nodded. “Go.” She said.
The boy did what she said. He decided to go with the soldier into the room where he had to give every detail about himself. The problem was… his hometown is nonexistent in the World of Elsiya. What was he supposed to tell the soldiers? He knew nothing of this world so he would not be able to lie his way out of it either. “I guess… I just have to pretend somehow.”
A lieutenant walked into the conviction room with two back-up soldiers. He had a helmet on and the boy could not make out who he or she was. Well, his voice would automatically give it away. The lieutenant spoke. “Welcome, young peasant.” He took the clipboard from the previous soldier, “I see that your information has been unidentified, other than your number of course.” The boy did not respond to that. The lieutenant continued, “I am Lieutenant Braus, if it matters to you. Now, let us begin, shall we?” He pointed at the chair which the boy was supposed to sit on. The boy, after about five seconds, decided to sit down. “Now, I want you to tell me why you are here.” He put both his legs onto the table to relax.
The boy was playing with his own fingers. He seemed a bit nervous about how to answer the questions. “Um… you’re not going to ask for my name?”
“Do you want me to ask for your name? You are pleased to say so.”
The boy decided to answer the original question. “I… lived in Wisteria almost all of my life.”
“Wisteria, you say? Which part of Wisteria?”
“…The poor part.”
“Oh? As far as I remember, Wisteria does not divide its area based on hierarchy. Are you not confusing the city with some place else?”
The boy looked away, “Well…”
“Hm. Moving on then. How about your blood type?” Just as the boy was about to answer, a soldier barged in.
“Lt. Braus, we have a problem with member Number 49! She has been ravaging around the harvest area and will not stop!”
The lieutenant sighed. He placed his legs onto the ground from the table as he said, “What, pointing a gun at her did not do the job? Bring her in.” His helmet turned to the boy without a word and the boy took note of this. The lieutenant changed his mind. “You know what, just take me to her.” He turned to the information page of Number 49, “Melanie Dawes. How bothersome.” He made sure that the boy followed along without losing track of him.
At the harvesting area, the woman pointed a shovel at two soldiers. Both of the soldiers seemed even more nervous than the woman. The three soldiers along with the lieutenant and the boy were getting closer. One of the two soldiers that the woman was talking to became frustrated. He pointed a gun at her, “If you do not calm down this instant, then face the consequences!”
The woman, Melanie, placed her hands on her hips. “Do you soldiers always have to use the same method to threaten a bunch of slaves? It’s pathetic. That’s not going to do anything! I have a family to take care of – back in Wisteria, not in this stupid concentration camp. If I cannot even do that, then just let me fight alongside with the soldiers!”
The soldier began to throw a tantrum, “SHUT UP!” The other soldier tried to calm him down.
The woman only taunted him even more. Lieutenant Braus said from afar, “Ah man… what are they up to now?” The boy became tensed. The sight of the soldier’s tantrum quite scared him. All the sudden, a gunshot was heard and the woman fell onto her knees. The boy opened his eyes wide. Even the lieutenant was surprised: “What?! He is not supposed to kill any of our captives!” The boy ran first. “Ah, hey!”
The commotion was moving on fast. Many slaves and soldiers began leaving the factories and raking areas to see what the loud noise was all about. Even the two children of the mother came out of the factory to see what was going on. The boy ran up to the woman and he stood in front of her. “Stop!!”
The soldier who pulled the trigger was shaking to death. His job was to only threaten the slaves from overpowering them. Because he pulled the trigger, he was to meet the consequences. The lieutenant arrived and said, “You are in such big trouble, mister.” As he said sarcastically.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry!” The soldier squealed.
The boy knelt down to the woman and he grabbed the woman’s pulsing hand. “Are you okay? Tell me you’ll be alive!”
Melanie said with a smile, “More than once you attempted to stop them from hurting me… you are one kind, young boy. I want my kids to learn from you. It seems that I can’t support them after all… they have lost both their parents in a matter of almost a day…”
The boy was in tears, “Don’t say that!”
Melanie chuckled, “It is only true. If only we were all able to be happy together… it would be like heaven.”
From afar, the male child held onto a soldier’s hand, “Mister… why is my mommy on the ground?”
The soldier knelt down to hug both of the children. “She is going to a better place…”
The female child said with a squeaky, innocent voice, “Where is she going?”
The soldier began to cry. He was sensitive to the fact that these children no longer have parents. Being parentless at a young age could be the worst, possible thing to happen. This soldier clearly understood that. The young boy asked with a childish voice, “Are you cwying?”
The soldier stood up and brought them back into the factory, “Come on, let us continue.”
As the group of three was entering the factory again, the young girl commented, “Mister Soldier isn’t happy.”
The lieutenant ordered his soldiers to take away the tantrum soldier. Filled with tantrum, the soldier pointed the gun at all of them. Lieutenant Braus crossed his arms. “Are you mad serious about this? We hired you to protect these civilians, not to kill them. Take this man away and he shall be cremated. I do not tolerate soldiers who do such things, especially to women who are in need of support.” The tantrum soldier gave up as of course, if he shot one soldier, any of the others could have shot him so he had no chance.
One of the soldiers supporting the lieutenant pointed at the boy. “Should we take him along too?” The lieutenant was going to agree, but he noticed that the boy was kneeling down for the woman. He wanted to see what was going on first.
Melanie could barely speak now. Her eyes were gloomy and she could not last any longer. “Young man, I do not expect you to be free from this tragic area, but if you can… please restore Wisteria. With your big heart, I’m sure you can stop them at ease.” The boy was shaking in fear. “There is one more thing I must ask… I want to remember you when I am… away. What is your name?”
The boy wiped away his tears and said deeply, “Matthew, Matthew Tran.”
Melanie smiled and said, “Such a sweet name…” She slowly closed her eyes and her pulse stopped. Her body was no longer in motion.
Matt opened his eyes wide. “No…” He took a moment of silence to build up all of the tension inside of him. He then closed his eyes. He stood up, thinking carefully about the situation. After a moment, he spoke, “I will save Wisteria!”

Yessenia: Maybe it is just a dream. After all, we are only one episode through. Who is this lieutenant guy?
Matt: Who does he think he is?! He can’t boss us around like peasants!
Yessenia: Let us see… We are peasants here in this concentration camp and he is considered the lieutenant. I think he has the right to boss us around.
Matt: H-Hey… Who’s side are you on?! Agh, it doesn’t matter right now. Next time on episode 119, The Necessity for Escape, Eager to Depart!!
Yessenia: Necessity? I can get used to this.
