Recently
on Fires of the sky, the El Monte students returned to Earth only to find it
still frozen. As they return to Arkon’s Magic, the six main students, Matt,
Yessenia, Jaime, Alex, Venus, and Winny all enter a bridge that leads them to
the Elemental Challenges! Without further delay, they were forced to attend as
the six members for the challenges, but are they ready? After finishing the
first match, the El Monte students find that they have humiliatingly lost
against all the other four schools. Even worse, one of the members of El Monte
seemed to have mysteriously run away with Benny, a member from Rosemead. Even
after the second, third, and fourth matches, El Monte placed last again! The
fifth match proved El Monte’s worth, but the sixth has become fixed towards the
wrong direction! Have they been interrupted?
Episode 233 – Eternal Spy, A Lingering Moment of Santi
Venus had been teleported by Benny
from behind Dragon and Sammy. Alex watched them all carefully. “Venus!!!”
However, she did not respond to him.
Dragon went on with his explanation,
“Venus here is our primary subject because we knew Santiago’s best friend in
middle school was her. We had offered her to join the Elemental Powers Unit if
she agreed to investigate on you guys in secret.”
“Like a spy…” Alex thought about it.
“Mhm! We gave her the power of
darkness to help her utilize enormous strength if anything went wrong.
Strangely, something went wrong with Earth that even we could not overpower.
But, Venus told us that it was called the Pendulum of Time that Tony and that
damn Jaime activated. It caused Earth to freeze and lots of the important El
Monte students randomly vanished into that world that we could not enter!”
“We waited for months, wondering
what happened to Venus and the El Monte group. When you guys finally came back,
we were surprised to see that Venus had been engulfed into the light.”
Alex answered them, “And that’s how
Venus seeped into her Thunder powers.”
Dragon nodded. “Yes, but you must
consider it not as Thunder, but Light in contrast to what she was supposed to
keep: Darkness. At this rate, Benny had been consuming the same power of
Darkness and he has been much stronger with it.”
Alex tried to get up. “You bastards…
why do you care about Santi so much?!”
“His death deemed mysterious. We
take notes of every death that goes on by students who have powers, and
Santiago’s was the most peculiar!” Dragon responded.
“What the hell? What makes his death
more ‘peculiar’ than other people like Mariel, or Miki, Steve, or anybody else
of that matter?!?!”
Sammy shrugged. “That is the most
interesting part. We thought maybe you students kept a big secret from the
Elemental Power Unit, but it seems you are just as confused. Now, we’ll never
know what happened to that Santiago guy. For all we know, he could still be
alive – in another dimension.” Alex froze in surprise.

Matt constantly punched the
sponge-like walls in their asylum. “Get us out! Where are the trio-sisters?
Where is Venus?! Damn it!!!!”
Shirley pouted. “Doing that isn’t
going to get us anywhere. Just give it up and wait it out.” The group suddenly
heard footsteps coming closer.
Yessenia pushed everyone to the side
and then she headed to the front of the group. “What is it now?”
Winny’s giddy side squealed. “We’re
gonna be attacked!”
The wall suddenly vanished and they
could see the large corridor leading to a blinding light. Jaime shrugged. “I
don’t know what the heck is going on, but do you think we should just leave?”
“Sounds like the best bet for us!”
Matt raised his fists.
Shirley took out her pole weapon,
“Is now even the time to question this?”
“I think so.” Michael stopped.
“Uh, not really. We should think
about this later and run now!” Shirley said as she ran off first. Yessenia,
Winny, Jaime, Jon, and then Michael went on ahead. Matt was about to walk but
he stopped to hear a voice.
“Go ahead.”
“H-Huh?” Matt turned around but
nobody was in the asylum. “Who’s there?”
“Number 1,000.”
“What does that even mean?” Matt
felt strange talking to a voice with no physical feature.
“Take my word for it and save your
friends.” The voice disappeared after.
“…Hm.” He closed his eyes. “I’ve
failed so many times before… Do I still have the chance to fix things?” Matt
questioned.
“Matt, hurry the hell up or you’ll
be left behind! Ugh!” Shirley screamed at him from afar.

Sammy said to Alex and the other
students, “One more thing. We will send you students to the ‘eternal
nothingness’.”
Venus gasped. “W-Wait a minute!”
Benny covered her mouth right after she spoke.
“Why would you do that to us?! We
didn’t do anything except participate in your stupid challenges!” Alex
complained.
“We have as much evidence as
possible. We cannot let the word go out that one of the four sectors of the
Elemental Power Unit had been doing illegal action into being spies on students
in regular schools.”
Alex clenched his fists. “Santi’s
death wasn’t illegal after all. Basically, your whole Unit is doing something
illegal, and now that you cannot milk anymore information out of us, you just
want to kill us?!”
Dragon laughed. “Aha! Look at this
kid go! We won’t kill you. We will let you rot and die in the ‘eternal
nothingness’ soon. But, Venus here will be executed.”
“E-E-Executed…?” Alex began shaking
as he crawled closer to Venus. “Venus, is this true? Why would you be
executed?”
Sammy yawned. “She thought it would
be simple to fish out answers from you guys, but it turns out you guys also had
no idea how Santiago really ‘died’.
Because Venus has been a part of our Unit for so long, we cannot let her
exploit the information. The only thing now is to have her killed as soon as
possible.”
Alex became angry. “Venus… was a spy
all this time? Venus, why would you do that? We’re friends, aren’t we?”
Venus coughed. “…No. We’re not. I’m
sorry.”
“What are you saying?! Yes you are!
We came all this way for you!!!”
Venus turned away. “Take me away as
soon as possible. I am done here.”
“You can’t just decide to die,
Venus! There has got to be a way for you to stop this! Venus, come back!!!!!”
Sammy, Dragon, Venus, and Benny had
vanished. Alex, Irene, Siyun, Romeo, and Layla were all vanishing. Alex tried
to get up. “No. We can’t die in an eternal nothingness! It can’t end here!”
Irene punched the ground. “I knew
the Challenges seemed rigged and suspicious. I let it go past my head this
time.”
Alex began crying. “I think… it’s
the end for us!!!”

Van woke up from her sleep, but she
had a hood over her head. “Mmph… Ernh…” She moaned. She turned her head while
she was on the floor and she saw a skeleton next to her. “Huh-
EYAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Jenny covered her mouth, “Sh, sh!
Please, be a little silent. There are lots of angry people out there.”
Van looked around but there was no
sign of Maggie. “Oh my gosh, oh my gosh!!” She began to cry. “Maggie… Is that
skeleton!” She pointed at the dead being next to her. “Maggie’s dead!! Jenny,
this can’t be happening to us. We’re going to die too, aren’t we?!”
“What the hell are you talking
about? I’m right here.” Maggie appeared from behind Jenny.
“Oh.”
“Anyway, we’re supposed to be a
little quiet around here.” Maggie said.
Van began to sneeze. “I’m feeling a
little sick…”
“I know. The atmosphere here is bad.
But, what else can you do?” Jenny giggled.
Van quickly stood up and then said
to Jenny, “How can you be so calm about this?” She opened the tent and saw many
people picking at each other. Many men were already dead and there were
skeletons lying all over the floor. “I feel like… we’re in the ‘Eternal
Nothingness’…” Van cried again. “I didn’t expect us to die so cruelly like
this.”
Jenny hugged her. “It’s okay. We
still have each other, and we’ll never be alone, okay?”
Van shook her head. “O-Okay. Maybe
you’re right.” She began to remove her hoodie. “It’s a little damp in here too.
Who wears this kind of stuff?”
Maggie placed the hoodie back onto
Van’s head. “H-Hey! Put it back on. Peasants may have worn these, but it’s the
least we can do to protect ourselves.”
Van questioned them, “Protect
ourselves? From what? Those men out there won’t fight us if we’re women. Even
they should have the decency.”
Maggie agreed with her. “I know what
you mean, but… Um… They kind of know that you in particular are the reason why
we’re stuck here.”
Van gasped. “M-Me?” She remembered
that she ran away due to fear of fighting in the fifth match against the
participants of the Elemental Challenge. “I ran away…” She covered her head and
she began to shake in fear again. “I ran away…! It’s all my fault that we’re
all here. I made things worse.”
Maggie rolled her eyes. “It took me
awhile to get over how dumb you were acting and now you’re admitting it?”
Jenny whispered, “Please calm down.
We cannot get mad at each other at a crucial time like this.”
Van hugged Jenny again. “I want to
know if we’ll be okay? Will they ever find us?”
“Just keep your hoodie on and never
say each other’s names out loud.” Maggie said as she left the tent.
“Be careful, Maggie. It could be
dangerous out there.” Jenny giggled.
“Got it.” She said as she left.

Yessenia first entered the light and
the group followed her. They seemed to be in space, but the atmosphere was just
as good as Earth’s or any other world they have been to before. Shirley
examined the whole area. “Ooh… this place looks kind of pretty.”
Matt was floating in midair. Their
surroundings were almost dark, but brightened by several stars. “So… are we
actually in space?”
“It could be an illusion of some
time.” Yessenia claimed. “It looks like we are in a third dimension in
comparison to the normal world of Earth and any Elemental world.”
“What do you mean by that?” Jaime
asked.
Winny answered for Yessenia, “I
think I understand now. This is a place where time and space is bent. But, who
would have thought that a place like this existed so close to the higher
officials of Elemental Power?”
Michael agreed. “Yes. These higher
officials work as a part of the Elemental government. They’re the strongest
people out there.”
“Even much higher than Luther? He
was misinformed, thinking that he was the creator of Elemental power but he was
extraordinarily strong nonetheless.” Winny questioned.
“If that is what he says, then yes,
the government is over a hundred times stronger than this Luther guy that you
speak of.” Michael said.
“A hundred times stronger than
Luther?!” Matt gulped.
Shirley shivered. “Eugh. Even back
then, it took over eight people to fight just Luther. Imagine fighting the
whole government, who is a hundred times stronger, at once? No chance there.”
“That is why we should not mess with
them.” Michael warned, “But it is very strange for the walls to just suddenly
disappear from the asylum that we were in. Someone in the Elemental government
must be helping us.”
“How is that even possible?” Shirley
wondered. “If they’re so powerful, aren’t they also smart and able to decipher
who tricks, betrays, and escapes from these kind of things?”
Yessenia nodded, “If they do not see
it or know about it, then they cannot catch you. They cannot just suddenly have
those Spiderman senses that tingle.”
“Did you just make a reference to
Spiderman?” Matt joked.
“You tell anyone and I will crush
you.” Yessenia said angrily.
“You do make sense though, Yessenia.”
Michael said. “As long as they don’t see us, we will be safe.”
Jon clapped his hands. “But let’s
get real here! We’re just sitting around, talking about what the hell is going
on, but we are in a bent space in time. What should we do?”
Shirley pointed at a picket sign in
front of her. “I don’t know. Why don’t we look at this convenient sign over
here?”
“Are you kidding me?” Jaime stared
at it.
Winny read the sign, “Eternal
Nothingness. That sounds dangerous. Let’s not go there.”
Matt interrupted them, “No. That’s
exactly where the trio-sisters are. We have to go there!”
“Are you kidding me, Matt?! Eternal
Nothingness is a place where you can walk into and never go out!” Shirley began
slapping him senseless.
“It’s true. I never heard one single
person escape that place.” Michael said. “There is not one single exit.”
Matt walked in front of the picket
sign. “Don’t be so naïve. If there is a way in, then of course there is a way
out.”
Shirley panicked. “You’re the naïve
one here, you stupid idiot! We’re not living a logical life with all of this
elemental power and alternative universe stuff going on, so what makes you
think it would make sense to have an exit back out?!”
“I don’t know. I believe whatever I
want to believe. Besides, you’re the one who brought the trio-sisters here, and
I want to rescue them because they’re our friends.”
Shirley closed her eyes and then she
clenched her fists. “Oh, don’t you dare pull the guilt trip on me.”
Jaime patted Matt on the shoulders.
“Well, it doesn’t look like we have anywhere else to go. I might as well see
what’s in this Eternal Nothingness.”
“I think it is a great idea.” Jon
agreed. Yessenia and Winny smiled. Michael sighed but he had no other choice.
Shirley pulled her own hair. “Augh!
You’re all a bunch of crazy people! Ugh, if we die, it’s on you Matt! It’s not
like we have anywhere else to go anyway.”

Shirley: ‘Quick’? I have a feeling we won’t be shown for a while.
Yessenia: The story shifts to the trio-sisters. How are they doing?

Not so good. I think they are in danger.
Matt:
We can’t waste any more time!
Alex:
The last few students from the final match are still around, but why are we all
thrown into the Eternal Nothingness?
Irene: Apparently it is because they need
us to keep silent by killing us off ‘mysteriously’.
Alex: What?!
Van: Maggie… um, where is Jenny?
Maggie: She went out to get food, I think?
Matt:
Maggie’s shift on searching for food is done and now it is Jenny’s turn. The
prisoners outside are becoming angry and now they’re all blaming Van for being
stuck into the Eternal Nothingness! Next time on episode 234, Lost, Into the
Eternal Nothingness!
Jenny:
I don’t know where she is!
Van:
Jenny! There you are!
