Recently
on Fires of the sky, the El Monte students returned to Earth only to find it
still frozen. As they return to Arkon’s Magic, the six main students, Matt,
Yessenia, Jaime, Alex, Venus, and Winny all enter a bridge that leads them to
the Elemental Challenges! Without further delay, they were forced to attend as
the six members for the challenges. After the challenge had finished, the final
match had made a wrong turn. West Covina had taken over and their leader,
Colonel Artemis, has trapped most of the students into the Eternal Nothingness.
With an urge to escape, the students struggle against West Covina and almost
every one of them have lost brutally. Will they be able to make a comeback?
Much more importantly, are they able to escape the Eternal Nothingness?
Episode 250 – A Double Battle, Old Friends Versus
Alvin and Geddon!
Colonel Artemis was in the same
laboratory from where Claire and Venus had just left. He placed both Dragon and
Michael into a locked capsule just like Venus. He noticed that Layla was facing
the ground, fainted and out of breath like the machines nearby. “Hm, makes life
simpler.” He placed her into a third capsule. “Venus’s revival should make huge
roles from here on. She will begin anew.”
~~~
Shirley made an Ice Prism fall from
mid-air above Alvin but Alvin made a simple swing which shattered the giant
cage. Sith drilled the ground as he began reaching below ground level. Geddon
followed along with his own golem manipulation. In an instant, Geddon was able
to uppercut Sith out of the ground. Jaime tried to create more shadows but even
his own was struck by Alvin’s scythe. Both Maggie and Winny were still
unconscious.
Matt and Nix flew into the air and
Alvin created twelve scythes around himself. After each fireball, Alvin used
each scythe to deflect Matt’s attacks. Nix tried to head-butt Alvin at a
soaring speed but he knew it would be better not to fight directly against
someone with a scythe. Following this, Shirley threw one attack after another –
Icicle Rain, Hailstone, and then an Ice Boulder. Geddon simple made all of the
ice explode. Sith had to avoid all of the falling ice but because of this,
Geddon had the clear move to attack him directly. Matt and Shirley were clearly
struggling with these two men. It seemed as if lately, El Monte had been facing
their difficulties really terribly at this point.
Alex yawned. “Ah, it’s been really
peaceful lately. Something’s up.”
“Good joke. I suppose I am rubbing
off on you.” Siyun said in her monotonous tone.
“What’s there to joke about this
time?!” Alex said angrily.
“You said ‘up’. Look up.” Siyun
pointed without turning her head.
“What- AIY!” Alex quickly jumped
away as Benny flew down with a dark aura. The charcoaled ground exploded nearby
and Romeo was thrown a several meters away. Siyun teleported behind Alex.
“Like I said, good joke.” Siyun
patted Alex’s shoulders.
“NOT NOW!” Alex blasted. He created
an Aqua Tornado. But Benny flew threw it without trouble. He kicked Alex with a
strange dark force that caused Alex’s heart to skip a beat. He fell on his
back. “W-What the heck did you just do?!”
Romeo said to himself, “It looked as
if that guy weakened Alex for a second with just a simple touch.”
Siyun began making hand motions.
Benny laughed. “It’s nothing to worry about. Because of my overpowering
darkness, I can weaken you by just a simple touch.
Romeo called to the group, “We
should run! I’m more worried about our friends!”
Alex created an Aqua Ball to stall
time before Benny destroys it. “Not now. I’m tired of running away.” The three
students clearly could not notice Benny’s true form because of the dark aura
that engulfed Benny’s appearance. “This guy’s powers are too familiar.”
Siyun enhanced her weapon and armor
while her speed rose due to her enhantments. “He is the same man who struck us
in the last match – Benny, I assume.”
“Benny? He’s the prime issue with
Venus’s betrayal!” Alex clenched his fists. “So you must have persuaded her
into going against us, did you?!” Alex made a Steam Blower that tried to blow
Benny away. Benny made a spin that expanded his dark aura all around the field.
Siyun’s enhancements dispelled while Romeo and Alex’s strength weakened.
Already, the group was barely able to move. Benny raised his arms and his dark
aura helped carry the three students. “You’re all coming with me.”
“Where are we going?!” Alex
panicked.
While the students were being driven
by Benny’s dark aura, Siyun said to them, “Can you say we got ‘carried away’
and lost?” Alex rolled his eyes.
Matt made his sword appear. “If
you’re going to just blow up every fire move I make, then I might as well start
attacking with my weapon!”
Shirley took out her pole stick.
“Good idea!”
“Is that a giant Q-tip?” Geddon
asked.
“I suppose it is.” Alvin added.
Shirley stomped her foot. “You both
really need to shut up!!”
Matt made a Flame Strike followed by
a Spiral Blade attack against Alvin. As usual, Alvin only deflected his attacks
without making an effort to move. Nix tried to blow fire but Alvin punched it
into the ground. Geddon stomped on the floor and a large rock flew upward. He
then pushed it towards Shirley. Shirley raised her weapon. “That’s a big
boulder!” She quickly froze her pole with an icicle spike at the end of it as
she stabbed it against the boulder. The boulder didn’t shatter because she did
not strike enough, however it only stopped and fell straight down. “Phew!”
Maggie slowly opened her eyes. Alvin
slashed Matt’s arm while Geddon made a boulder shoot upward from below Shirley.
More rocks surrounded her and it gripped onto her arms. She could no longer
move while Matt was too injured to attack. Maggie gasped. “W-What is this?” She
whispered to herself.
Geddon smiled. “It’s the end for you
two little kids.”
Matt tried to stand up. “You have to
listen to me. Whoever this Colonel Artemis guy is, he’s up to no good. He’s a
dangerous man!”
“But he can make us stronger!”
Geddon responded.
Jaime said to himself, “Are all of
the antagonists this simple-minded into believing their masters?”
Sith was sitting next to him as he
answered, “You must have had some easy villains in your past.”
Alvin stabled another scythe into
Jaime’s shadow. “Silence! It’s more than that!” He began shaking. “We plan… we
plan that someday when we become very strong Elemental Users, we will not use
our powers for conspiracy and abuse. We won’t follow the path of silencing
innocent people by killing them.”
“Then why are you trying to kill
us?!” Shirley said as she struggled with the rocks that Geddon created.
“It’s different this time around.”
Alvin said. “We were supposed to simply leave you here in the Eternal
Nothingness. However, someone from the Elemental Nullos somehow freed you all.
If this strange person is capable of freeing you, who knows how easy it would
be for this person to take you out of the Eternal Nothingness and seek
revenge!”
Matt coughed. “That’s no different
from killing us! Directly or indirectly, we would be dead. And-…”
“In the long run, the students in
the future will not have to deal with deadly elemental powers. People like us
from West Covina will be definite in our positions as governmental leaders. I
can promise you that.”
Shirley clenched her teeth. “You and
your friends are a bunch of idiots. How can you consider protecting the world…
when you don’t even know how to protect yourselves?! You don’t even know who to
trust. This Colonel Artemis guy, really? He’s obviously dangerous!”
“We are not that closed-minded.”
Alvin retaliated with a tone that seemed regretful, “We will go against him the
moment we are victorious. We are defeating you students out of future justice.”
“Then wouldn’t this mean you’re on
our side? Why don’t we work together and stop him?” Matt wondered.
“You shouldn’t think too lightly of
this man. Although he has been appointed less than a year ago, he can report to
the highest officials in an instant and you students along with us would be
dead.” Alvin said.
Geddon clenched his fists which made
the rocks tighten itself. “I’m sorry, but this is the best outcome.” Shirley
began coughing in pain.
Geddon’s movements suddenly stopped.
Alvin’s hands could not move as well. Matt looked around. “What’s happening?!”
Geddon tried to move his legs but
they were also stuck. “I… am petrified?”
“That’s right!” Maggie said proudly.
“Level 2 Layer! Well, almost Level 3, but you get the point. I’m not that
strong yet.” She then spun in several circles. “Entangle, expand!”
Alvin and Geddon struggled their way
through the layers of webs. The rocks stopped floating and Shirley was set
free. Sith crawled towards Jaime to take the scythe off the ground. Eventually,
Jaime was set free and he was the most capable of movement. Jaime laughed.
“Good move, Maggie!” He then casted a shadow behind Alvin. “You first.” The
shadow punched itself, causing Alvin to punch himself as well.
Matt and Shirley were surprised that
Jaime was now free to move. Jaime continued, “You two might be strong in
physical attack, but you’re not strong enough to set yourselves free from
spider webs!” He created four Shadow Ninjas that struck Alvin. Alvin could no
longer attack. “You’re next.” He said to Geddon as Jaime threw a Shadow Ball at
him. “Well that’s all I got for now.”
Shirley yelped, “WHAT?! You were cool
for only a second!”
“Sorry, but my shadow power isn’t
used to being the attacker. It only defends.” Jaime shrugged.
Matt raised his fists. “It doesn’t
matter. They’re out cold!”
Shirley said happily, “We finally
beat the impossible?!” She gave Matt a high-five.
Jaime rolled his eyes. “I’m the one
who beat them here.”
“Ahem.” Maggie pouted.
“Oh yeah, you too, I guess.” Jaime
shrugged.
Claire paused for a moment. She
could sense two more energies disperse from herself. “My link with everybody
else is slowly depleting. What was once ten allies… are now seven.” She turned
to Venus, “But, we are actually on eight.” She giggled to herself.
~~~
After a while, Colonel Artemis
gathered his remaining members of West Covina: Benny, Flynn, and Sammy. Claire
was heading towards an uncertain destination with Venus. Catt was secretly
going against their group by helping Yessenia, Van, and Jon. Lastly, Dragon was
caught trying to tell all of his friends that Artemis’s tactics is a huge
mistake. Colonel Artemis said to his three teammates, “Due to Claire’s sensory,
we have the advantage of locating all of our members. However, we can also
sense the change of hearts within those who are not here.”
Flynn panicked. “Where is Catt,
Geddon, Pilfer, and Alvin?!”
Sammy sighed. “The three men are so
useless. They lost already. Catt had a change of heart.”
Benny threw Alex, Romeo, and Siyun
into a separate capsule. “Perhaps Catt went through some kind of epiphany
within herself. She was always somewhat confused about who she really was
anyway.”
Sammy changed the subject, “What is
Claire going to do with Venus?”
Colonel Artemis began explaining his
plan, “Claire is taking Venus to the hierarchy.”
“Why can’t you teleport anybody to
anywhere as you wish?” Flynn questioned.
“These powers require excessive
power. Although I may have gained political power, abusing the power of
teleportation is too grand. I have almost exceeded my limit. Having the more
important ones teleported here,” Artemis said, “like Dragon, is more crucial.
Therefore, having Alvin and Geddon take care of the rest is the best
alternative.”
Sammy yawned. “I guess you won’t be
able to teleport people to places for a while until you stock up on more
energy?”
Colonel Artemis stabbed his trident
onto the ground. “This will be the end for El Monte though. Once we take down
their whole group along with the rest of the students from the district, I will
have enough energy to take us back to Earth.”
Benny shook his head. “That sounds like
a plan. Also having Venus attack them would be the best punishment for her,
especially for what she has done to me in the past.”
“I also have one more request before
we return.” Artemis proposed. “We are all going to split up one more time and
fight those who are still alive and moving. We cannot just sit down and wait
for them to starve and exhaust to death. Waiting is what usually causes the
other team to lose.”
Benny, Sammy, and Flynn agreed with
him. Colonel Artemis decided to stay in the capsule room to guard the area
while the other three students headed out into the Eternal Nothingness.

In Matt’s group, Winny finally woke
up from her long sleep. Shirley, Jaime, Maggie, Nix, and Sith were all waiting
for her to sit upwards. Next to them were Alvin and Geddon who were completely
tied up from Maggie’s web powers. Winny shuffled around the group quickly.
“Where is Changmin? Where is my Changmin?!” The group was silent. “Please tell
me it’s still here!”
Jaime closed his eyes. “Changmin
isn’t here anymore…”
Winny began shaking. “This can’t be
happening… I never thought I would have to say goodbye to him this soon.”
“Are you sure about that?” Jaime
asked.
Winny shook her head. “Yeah… and I’ll
worry more about it later after we get out of here. I’m almost sure we’ll be
fine in the end. For now, we have to worry about what’s more important!” 12450
