Episode 206 - Focus on Spokesman Gerald, the Full Party of Echoville

On the last arc, Rowen had taken advantage of Matt and Alex and was able to retrieve both the Bird’s Tear and the Rainbow Mist. Going back to Tigre Village, the Telsi Potion was made to revive his three old friends: Droan, Anietta, and Narisa! At a close pinch, the main group of El Monte was able to stop him with teamwork. Now that the potion has been used, how will the students return to Earth? Telgei appears and tells them that there is a possibility, but it would mean attending the Sunlit Mayhem. The ten students have been chosen and now the score is one win, two losses, and one draw. Will the students be able to make more wins in their score count?
Episode 206 – Focus on Spokesman Gerald, the Full Party of Echoville

            Venus was still battling against Johnny. They were face-to-face and the audience was confused as to what Venus had done to Johnny. With Gerald’s speech about Venus ‘lying’ about the necklace and Johnny’s side of the story – telling the whole audience about what Venus had done, everybody began judging Venus as the evil sinner. Venus closed her eyes. “You’re… you’re making a fool out of me? I didn’t even mean to do anything to you in the first place!”
            “But you did it anyway!” Johnny yelled at her back.
            “What does she mean?” Thuy asked kindly. Christine only shrugged.
            Venus’s tears were still running down her eyes. “Stop with the bullcrap already!!” She created a Clap noise with her Lightning ability and a large zap appeared above Johnny, but he jumped away. She then created a Cannonade with her thunder. The continuous lightning appeared, following Johnny but he was quick enough to avoid her. “Barrage!” She added. A large circle surrounded Johnny. “Now you can’t run! I’ve seen your weak point!”
            “What?” Johnny was amazed.
            “You can use your stupid subordination powers, but it only works if you have a clear runway. Now that I’ve surrounded you, you can’t run!” She then turned her whip into the shape of a bow weapon.
            Matt cheered, “Go Venus! Look at all those new moves!”
            Jenny was worried. “She’s really serious about shooting that Johnny guy by using bow and arrows.”
            “That’s because her new moves and actions are driven by complete anger.” Peter added. “She is really going too far, but what can you do if everybody believes the liar?”
            “You believe Venus’s story?” Stan asked.
            “I don’t know. She doesn’t really like talking about herself…” He pondered.
 ~~~
            As time passes, Yessenia slows down with Bunny. “The person I am sensing is Jon, but where is he?”
            Jennifer arrived with Lupe. “There you are, Bunny!” Jennifer called out for him from afar.
            “Oh, how is Brandon?” Yessenia began to casually converse with the two girls.
            “He’s doing fine. Right now, he is watching the match through the telescreen offered in the hospital.” Jennifer responded.
            Lupe decided to add in her own observation. “It looks like Shirley is in there too now?”
            “Yeah… she was brutally attacked by... Uh…”
            “We know, don’t worry.” Jennifer said calmly. “Sharon… We saw her through the telescreen. You know, I’ve noticed something about that battle. Spokesman Gerald was swept off his feet from only that match.”
            “How do you figure things like that?” Yessenia was amazed.
            Lupe hugged Jennifer. “Jennifer is very observant. She has the eyes of a hawk.”
            Yessenia then glared at Bunny with an evil grin. Bunny stomped his feet. “Who cares about eyes!” It said angrily.
            “So what does this say about that Gerald guy?” Jennifer asked as she began to answer herself, “He may be suspicious.”
            Yessenia started to agree with her. “Putting the pieces together, he does seem a bit ambiguous even by this fifth match. We might need to examine this more.”
            “We’ll search around together!” Jennifer offered.
            “That would be nice.” Yessenia shook her head in agreement.
 ~~~
            Johnny was still surrounded by Venus’s Barrage. Venus was aiming her bow whip and arrow at Johnny. He only laughed which confused Venus. “Whats so funny now?”
            “You think you can defeat me. This necklace is mine.”
            “Tch!” Venus angrily let go of her fingers and the arrow stabbed Johnny by the heart. He fell to the ground but he vanished right after. Johnny appeared behind her but without a coat. He knocked her down with a simple elbow to her back and she fainted immediately.
            Matt was shocked now. The score was one win and three losses. Jen held onto Matt’s shoulders. “This looks bad…” she claimed.
            Matt became serious. “We are losing like crazy now. At this rate, there is almost no hope. Even worse, Yessenia just ran off. What the heck is going on, damn it?!” He punched a wall next to him. “Things are looking really bad now!”
            Stan and Kalpesh appeared before them. “Stan? Kalpesh? What are you two doing here?” Jen asked.
            Stan laughed. “We should be asking you guys the same question. Kalpesh wanted to find Jen while I was looking for you, Matt. I’m suspecting something is going on with this mayhem.”
            “You too?” Matt felt relieved that he was not the only one believing this.
            “Yeah, and first off… we need to ask the people in Aielle Village about Gerald’s home. I think if we go there, we’ll find out some information.”
            “What makes you think Gerald is behind all of this?” Jen spoke. “Did that idea just come out of nowhere?”
            “Well no, because he kind of gay away the mystery once he was focusing most on Shirley and Sharon’s battle.” Kalpesh said. “Even as a businessman, you would have to spectate every little thing.”
            “Weird and lame at the same time.” Stan joked while Kalpesh decided to leave on his own in annoyance. “I’m kidding, sheesh!”
 ~~~
            At this point in time, Winny’s group is on their way back to Aielle Village and Matt’s group gathered information on Gerald’s home. Yessenia’s group had done the same. Yessenia’s group was behind a few bushes. “They really put lots of security around his house.” She commented.
            “Well, if you’re one of the most important persons here in Aielle Village, then of course you need to protect his home. Let’s see if Bunny’s powers work best here.” Jennifer giggled.
            “Got it, master!” Bunny appeared out in the blue and the security guards stared at him. Bunny used his infatuation powers to make all of the guards want to hug him in joy.
            Yessenia shivered. “This brings back bad memories. We should just get the heck out of this place and go directly into Gerald’s place.”
            “Why bad memories?” Jennifer wondered. Lupe remembered when Yessenia was infatuated by Bunny because of his powers. The three girls ran into Gerald’s home but there were security cameras.
            Lupe caused the ends of the camera to become slippery and the cameras slipped off from the ceiling without any sweat. “That was simple. Let’s go.”
            “Useful support magic coming from Lupe and Bunny. Interesting, don’t you think?” Jennifer said to Yessenia while she said nothing.
            Meanwhile, back outside, Matt’s group could see Bunny hugging all of the soldiers. Matt yelled out loud, “That bunny is being loved by those guys?!”
            Bunny jumped. “No, don’t come closer! You break my magic spell!”
            “What?” Matt took a step forward. Bunny lost concentration and the guards gained consciousness. “Oh.” Matt said bluntly. “I think now is the time to run.” Matt’s group ran on in to Gerald’s home.
            They met up with Yessenia’s group at last. “There you are!” Jen smiled. “Finally.” She said.
            Yessenia could hear guards screaming for Matt’s group outside. “What did you guys do now?!”
            “We just wanted to know what you’re thinking of, randomly leaving the stadium like that.” Matt answered.
            Yessenia examined the living room. “Since I could not find Jon, I decided to go to the direct source: Spokesman Gerald. Right now, I cannot seem to find any information.”
            “Agggh!!” The guards yelled.
            “What’s going on?” Kalpesh became alert.
            They heard footsteps coming closer from the front door. Jennifer took out her gun. “Watch out…”
            The door opened and there was nobody in sight. Matt screamed from the top of his lungs, “AAAHHHH!! GHOST!!”
            “Ghost?!” Jen repeated.
            Yessenia slapped Matt on the head. She then pointed downward. It was no ghost. It was Telgei who was entirely shorter than the rest of the group. “What do you children think you’re doing at my pal’s house?”
            “Ahahaha! Who says ‘pal’ these days?” Matt joked. Jen sighed at Matt’s informal tone towards the elderly tigerman.
            Yessenia stepped forward. “We suspect that Spokesman Gerald is on to something.”
            “Spokesman Gerald? We’ve been friends for years. Haha! I don’t think he would do anything. Tell you what, we can leave this place now and I’ll keep this a secret from him.”
            “You mean you’re letting us go?” Stan asked.
            “My reputation as old fun Telgei shouldn’t come to a stop here, sonny. Besides, I want to see the mayhem go even further but with three students unattended at the backstage, who knows if you’re ne-…”
            They heard the speakers outside calling, “And on the red team for match number six, Matthew Tran!”
            Matt jumped. “He used my full name!”
            “That doesn’t matter. You’re next and you’re all the way here at Gerald’s house!!” Kalpesh panicked.
            Matt panicked. “Well then how do I get there on time?! At this rate, it will take me a good five minutes to run back.”
            Lupe opened her palms. “There’s nothing a slippery slide can do!” She focused on the front porch leading all the way to the stadium, “Here goes nothing!” She created a long slide and then there was a silence.
            Matt paused and then said bluntly, “So what now?” Stan pushed Matt onto the slide and he began sliding at about 30 mph. “DAAAAH!!! Why am I going so fast?! And how come the rubbery slide is not burning me?!?!?!”
            Jennifer scratched her head. “Um, I guess his fire powers protect him from the burning friction.”
            Bunny clapped its hands. Me next!”
            “Uh, no.” Jennifer refused after seeing how fast Matt went.
 ~~~
            After about a minute, Gerald said slowly, “One more time… Matthew Tran!”
            The slide ended right at the edge of the backstage. At the end, Matt slipped off the slide and was thrown onto the stage like rolling ball going through the stage. He flew flat against one side of the walls. The audience began laughing. Alex covered his face in shame. “How is he my friend?”
            “Oh… So it looks like Matt barely made it to the stage! Anyway, we will move forward on the blue team then!” Gerald said. Matt was eager to find out who it will be. “On the blue time, from Echoville…”
            “Wait, what?” Matt paused.
            “Vialaro, said to be the master of snipers!”
            Danny remembered Vialaro back at Echoville. “Whoa!!! It’s that mean guy who hurts his own teammates! Why is he here?!”
            “You look the same, kind of! You went through five years too?!” Matt said to him.
            “No. It has been one year since we’ve last met, and it has been one year that I have lived since then.”
            “But how…”
            Vialaro began to explain. “Rowen had left a portal back at the village outside of our very own forest.” Matt remembered the cloud bridge that surrounded the while forest. “Marri and Pippy had already been taken by Rowen a few months before Levi and I discovered this portal. The next thing you know, we ended up in Aielle Village with no trace of Marri or Pippy still. Eventually, they had arrived after we were about to explore the world in search for them. Strangely enough, they looked several years older but they did not know why. I am still questioning this, but the more important matter now is to return home by defeating you.”
            Matt became worried. “You guys… turned good in the end and now we have to fight again?”
            “We are not enemies, young man. I assure you. This will be a chivalrous battle between me and you.”
            Matt readied his fists. “As long as you’re not an enemy… then we will fight for our own right home! Heh!”
            Danny said to Alex, “He mentioned Levi! I remember her!”
            “Who are these people anyway?” Alex wondered.
            “They’re people we met a little before you got your water powers. I think Levi is close friends with-… Mariel…”
 ~~~
            From the hospital, Shirley and Brandon were healing up in their respective rooms. Shirley was on a bed, watching through the telescreens. “That man… Gerald said that Vialaro guy is from Echoville. So Marri isn’t the only one.” She closed her eyes to think about the case. “How is that even possible? Two of the Echoville Halflings grew five years while the other two are still at a normal age.”
            She began thinking more about it and then it hit her. She remembered when Marri was screaming nearby a capsule but Marri did not want to say anything. She subtly remembered what the capsule looked like. Shirley ripped apart the wires attached to her skin. There were no doctors standing nearby her. “I must… check out that capsule.”
            It took several minutes limping towards the capsule outside and there was a sign that said ‘do not touch’. She still did so anyway. As she opened the capsule, she looked at what was inside and she made a shrieking expression. “That’s right.” A girl said from behind. “I finally got some information about that capsule. I know exactly what’s going on.” It was Levi who had gone through puberty. She was half a foot taller with a larger boned body compared to before and her hair was tied into a pony tail. Her voice was also deeper. “Miss me?”
