Last time on episode 142, my giant master Matt was being evil. He went down a high staircase and soldiers trapped him from both sides. By now, Matt was extremely tired of seeing soldiers chasing him every time. So, he began to rage in complete anger. What he didn’t know was that the rage overpowered him and made his fire powers uncontrollable. Not only was it uncontrollable, his power was increasing by a whole lot so he could have easily blown up the whole ship! Luckily, Omar stopped him. After that, Jaime finds Omar and Venus finds the both of them. They engage in a difficult battle and Omar and Venus still lost against Jaime. Once Jaime won, he kicks Omar until Omar faints. From here, Jaime kidnaps Omar, leaving Venus and Matt in pain on the floor.
Episode 143 – Soul Activated, She Who is Taken by Constriction
Shirl took out three elemental crystals. She stood at an area within the Boral Marshes named 'Plaines Triangle'. There were three girls frozen in a pyramid-shape prism deep within the Plaines Triangle. "Stopping time on you three deemed useful. Come, my three servants. You will possess the power of animal manipulation." These three girls represented the trio-sisters!
"If I can manage to pause the whole world, then this shall be easy onward. Hmhm.~" She giggled.
"The missing Grimoire page!" Alex yelped. He sat up with a surprise after a nightmare. Huy was still sitting next to him while Yessenia was off with Shirley nearby to examine the bright pink and yellow glowing flowers of the waterscape.
"What was that?" Huy said.
Alex looked away and muttered, "Nothing... How long have I been asleep?"
"Oh, just for about an hour." Huy responded. His conversation with Yessenia lasted for well over thirty minutes, so waiting much longer was not a problem to him. "You mentioned a missing Grimoire page. I don't remember you ever talking about that in El Monte. Was it just some random dream?"
"Uh yeah, I guess, haha." Alex felt a little guilty for his lies, but he did not want to get Huy involved with such mystery. "What do you plan on doing once we reach the next city?"
Huy took a hold of the map that Yessenia was carrying before. "Well it looks like right after this Floral Waterscape, we will reach the industrial city of Lancer. The point in joining you guys was to escape the Ogre Forest because Shirley and I couldn't leave on our own. Seeing as the journey could be a bit dangerous, it won't be so bad to travel with four people in a group, right?"
"If you want to stick around with me and Yessenia, that's okay I guess. I'm interested in looking for this Telsi potion too."
Huy became defensive. "But you're not going to use it for something stupid, right?"
"I know, I know. We must use it for the world, not for our own personal selfish gains."
Huy laughed. "Yes. That is the reason why I am looking for the Telsi potion, or at least the formula. It must be written somewhere."
Alex stood up with his Grimoire book. "We should start going then. Maybe Lancer has some information. With that, Yessenia and I can also find Matt, Venus, or even Jaime."
Huy's ears propped from the thought of Matt and Jaime, Jaime especially. "That guy, Jaime?"
"Why, what's wrong?"
"The last time I talked to him, we told each other off."
"Eheh... Shirley and then Jaime... who else are you afraid of?"
Huy stomped his foot. "I'm not afraid! But when it comes to being afraid... Ah, never mind. I think it's about time we continue towards Lancer."
Alex and Huy headed towards Shirley and Yessenia. They spoke to each other about their decision to head over to Lancer to find Matt, Venus, Jaime, and more information about the Telsi potion. Shirley was smiling. She had never felt better after a short stroll through the Floral Waterscape. They stood nearby a waterfall where the air felt fresh after all.
"I'll go on ahead and see what's up!" Shirley went on and Huy followed her to make sure she would be okay.
"You know," said Yessenia, "I do not think we are even close to Matt and Venus. Soldiers would be nearby. As of right now, the four of us here in the waterscape are kind of hidden." A pack of birds flew out of a tree in front of them. Then, two squirrels ran across the road away from the tree as well.
Shirley fell in surprise and Huy knelt down to help Shirley keep her balance. "W-What was that?" Shirley said in fear.
Yessenia took out her long sword. "Something furious must be hidden in that tree!"
"That sounds stupid. Here, at the Floral Waterscape?" Huy said to Yessenia from far away. Huy and Shirley were about fifty feet ahead of Yessenia and Alex.
Footsteps were coming louder and louder from behind the tree. In the misty waterscape, the group of four could see a silhouette of a short, young girl. Yessenia gasped. "I think I have seen her a few times from El Monte!" The girl appeared full-flesh.
Alex stood up in happiness. "It's Van! I can't believe she's here, yay!" Alex and Shirley ran up to her with joy. They seemed to have a respect with her from last year.
Van had a straight look on her face. She stretched her right arm to her right and a little squirrel appeared next to her with red, flashy eyes. Yessenia gripped onto her long sword. "W-Wait a minute!"
Huy ran for Shirley, "You guys, watch out!"
Van pointed at Alex and Shirley. The squirrel ran towards them with its mouth open, showing sharp fangs. Shirley screeched. "EEK! Squirrels don't normally have sharp, pointy teeth, do they?!" She ran back to Huy with her hands flailing in the air hysterically.
Alex followed her. "But they can break acorns with it! It must be true!!!"
Yessenia covered her face with her right hand in shame. "Ugh, you cannot just run towards people like that anyway."
The squirrel stopped running. It froze. "Four members of El Monte High School. Processing data: Alex Wang, Shirley Cao, Huy Trang, and Yessenia Zhou being the strongest of the group." Van said without emotion.
Alex crossed his arms. "H-Hey! Why am I named first?!"
"More importantly, why is Yessenia the strongest one here?!" Huy clenched his teeth in anger.
Shirley slapped the both of them on their cheeks. "Look at the real picture here, guys! What happened to Van? She's acting totally different."
"Soul - activated. Van will now defeat and capture the four El Monte students." The squirrel was activated again and it began running towards the group.
"Aqua Strike!" Alex attacked first. The water's force was strong enough to slap the squirrel until it fainted. Van made four parrots appear from above her. She controlled the parrots to fly swiftly towards the group.
"Ice Prism!" She caused ice to surround the parrots. They were all frozen and they fell to the ground. "This is easy!" Van made a pack of six wolves appear beside her from the bushes. Shirley began to cry. "I think I spoke too soon, wah..."
"Why are wolves even in this nice waterscape?!" Alex questioned.
The six wolves flew quickly towards the group of four. Huy began to jump against another tree to ready his attack. Shirley tried to use her 'Ice Prism' but the wolves were running too fast. Before Alex could think or move, one of the wolves pounced on him and he fell on his back. Yessenia ran towards the wolves and she created a Tornado Spin before the other five wolves could reach them. Then, the wolves were all flown into the air in haste. They each fell and some were sprained. Yessenia yelled, "I got you now!" She created a 'Gust Slash' but she was only able to attack the sprained wolves which were two. Shirley created an 'Ice Prism' on the wolf that was above Alex. Huy leaped off the tree and he flew like a bullet towards the other three wolves that Yessenia missed.
After all six wolves were taken care of, Van stretched her right arm again. "Impressive. However, that was just a simple test for the beginning." A large snake appeared beside her.
Yessenia glared at the large snake which was two times Van's height. Yessenia thought in her head, "Damn it. That snake must be too heavy for my wind powers, too think to be inflicted by Huy's wall-jumping effects, totally useless against water, and I do not think Shirley has enough power to create a large prism of ice to surround it. This calls for a pl-..."
The snake quickly pounced towards the group and the tail rose up high. Alex was still flat on the ground and Huy barely made his landing from attacking the wolves. The snake twirled around Shirley before she could run and before time was left, Shirley was already coiled. "AGH!" She screamed.
"Shirley!!" Yessenia created a 'Gust Slash' attack, hoping it would inflict the snake. The snake's tail end swung towards Yessenia but she guarded with her long sword. "Damn!" She noticed there was a small scratch to the snake. "At least there was progress."
Van said to the group, "That is too bad. The next stage was to fight against the animals up ahead in the waterscape. Right now, they are increasing rapidly."
"Tch!" Yessenia said. She began to call out to the other two students, "Alex, Huy! Go on ahead and reach Lancer. Fend off against those animals before more continue to appear all at once! I will handle this." Yessenia created a 'Constricted Wind' that surrounded the large snake along with Shirley. It inflicted both of them in pain. Shirley screamed even more.
"What are you doing?!" Huy said in a panic.
Yessenia imagined the friction that the Constricted Wind would cause for Shirley since she was protected by the snake's coil. Shirley said to Huy, "Just go! It-It doesn't hurt... just one... bit!"
Alex was shaking in fear. "W-What do we do now?"
"Ergh... Yessenia seems like she has a plan. I'd say we should trust her."
"What?! Huy, are you crazy?"
"We have no other choice! If we left animals increase exponentially, then we'll never get through with this waterscape. And besides, I trust Yessenia."
Alex frowned. "I hope you're right...!"
They began running. Huy thought in his mind, "(Come on, Yessenia, I'm trusting you!)"
Yessenia became curious of the situation. "(How does a little girl hold so much power into summoning so many animals at once?)" She continued to constrict the snake. It was in pain.
Van clenched her fists. She had to use more energy to control the snake. It was her amount of energy versus Yessenia's. Yessenia constricted even tighter and Van did the same. Shirley could not take it anymore. Her face was red and she wanted to faint. Yessenia screamed for her. "Shirley!!"
Shirley coughed and then she smiled. "It's okay, Yessenia... keep trying your best to stop her."
"What?" Yessenia opened her eyes widely. Her power was weakening from the distracting comment that Shirley made. Van's mind also sparked a little, so she was weakened as well. Yessenia shook her head. "What do you mean 'it's okay'? You are going to die!"
"Probably... but, we've had long adventures together. We went so far into trying to protect ourselves and to take these powers away. If we can't accomplish that in the future, at least for you, then what is the point? You're one of the strongest girl's I've ever met. If you fail to beat this simple little girl, then what hope do we all actually have?"
"But, Shirley!!-..."
"Stop caring about I feel. You're always too serious, Yessenia. Smile more!" Shirley tried to giggle. "Just beat Van. Don't worry about me."
Van shook. "What is this feeling?" Van's powers were continuing to weaken.
Yessenia sparked an idea. She tried her best not to think about Shirley's pain. Her powers stopped weakening. Shirley was still hurt from the coil, but not as much anymore. Yessenia yelled, "There!" She had enough strength to overpower Van. Yessenia slashed the snake's steel-like body. The steel's energy came from Van, but Van was not able to keep up with the power. The snake screeched as it quivered on the ground. The coil ended and Shirley was thrown onto the ground. Her clothes were soiled and were slightly ripped from the friction that she had to deal with.
Right after defeating the snake, Yessenia went onto Van. She made another 'Constricted Wind' to bind Van's whole body so that she was unable to move. Yessenia then created a soft Tornado Spin so that Van was completely out cold after falling. Once Van fell from the tornado, she was on the ground, coughing and grasping for air. Shirley also sat up.
A dark aura flew out of Van and it vanished into thin air. Yessenia made a huge sigh. "So she was controlled. It seems everyone is like that, nowadays."
Shirley returned to falling on her back. She looked into the sky. "Yessenia, you did it..." She gave a soft smile as she fainted.
Yessenia ran up to Shirley to make sure she was okay. Following this, Van sat up. "Oh... What happened?" She could see from afar, Shirley's appearance. "S-Shirley? Is that you?"
Yessenia chuckled. "She will be fine. She is only out cold. I guess we are all safe and sound again." She remembered what Shirley told her moments before.
"You're always too serious, Yessenia. Smile more!" Shirley tried to giggle.
Yessenia slowly began to giggle. "Hmhm.~" Van watched her in confusion. Yessenia continued to giggle as the Floral Waterscape returned to its natural habitat. Only the waterfall and bird's chirpings could be heard.
