We now arrive in a world of despair. The parallel universe and timeline is now widely arrayed but cannot be evened into a single existence. Almost all truth has been revealed, but a person was lost in return. As the story goes on, now the students will have to fight against antagonists with many missing pieces in their hearts. The goal to restore order had failed enormously and now it is almost too late to change what has been done. All the extra time has been used and there is no second to waste. Students with powers must face the eternal truth. With only one more chapter left of the freshman year, what will be accomplished and where are the antagonists residing in now…?
Episode 111 - Raptures of the Gray Inaccesible Letters
Yessenia tried to call Shirley but she was not picking up. To make things even worse, the connection was not responding as well as it should have been. Yessenia was shaking her phone. Matt tried to call Shirley with his own phone even if he had limited minutes. There was no answer. So, they tried to call Alex and Jaime separately but still, the connection was worsening.
“I just don’t get it. What’s going on?” Matt checked his phone screen.
“Our phone companies are different yet both of ours do not work. It rang for a few seconds and then it started to crash. I hope Shirley got my missed call then.” She sighed, “Oh well… the only other option we have is to go back to school and tell Shirley ourselves. Together, we can go to Edmund so nobody gets lost.”
Matt agreed, “Okay, that sounds good with me.” They began to walk but then Matt’s body had a quick vanishing moment as if he was a broken television connection.
Yessenia saw this strange sight in her peripheral vision, so she turned to check. “W-What was that…?”
Matt responded with a slight concern, “Huh? What was what?” Matt’s body zapped again but he felt nothing.
Yessenia took a step back, “Matt, you are…” Yessenia’s body began to blink as well.
Matt shook his head, “Ah- wuh? Yessenia! How did you do that?”
“I do not think it is us who are doing this. Not only our cellphones are losing connection, our whole body is losing connection!”
Matt panicked. He ran in circles in the small alleyway in front of Santi’s house, “What do we do? What do we do? I don’t want to die now!”
“Not that kind of connection loss! I am talking about how we might be sent to somewhere random without our own permissions. When connections in general go haywire, the response does not always happen to the way we want it to be. Do you get me?”
“Kind of like a virus?”
“Yes! We ..ve som. ki.. of vir.s an. it wi.. get wor..!!” Yessenia began sparkling. Her own body was almost completely vanishing.
Matt reached out for her, “Wha. i. going o.?!” Matt yelled as he vanished as well.

In the large gym, Shirley was playing badminton and Alex was watching her. Shirley smacked a birdie at Sharon, “Gotcha! I win again!”
Sharon laughed it out as always. While laughing, she punched Huy telling him that their loss was his fault. Alex stared at them, feeling an awkward commotion going on. Shirley began to wipe her forehead from the exhaustion. She headed for her backpack to check up on her cellphone. Alex gave her the cellphone, “It’s right here. You got a bunch of missed calls.”
“You checked my cellphone?!”
“Sorry I just had to check. It kept ringing! Be glad I didn’t pick it up.”
“Well good, because if you picked it up, I would kill you.” She saw that her missed calls came from Yessenia. She yelled at Alex, “Why didn’t you pick up my phone calls?! It was Yessenia! This could be an important call!”
“But you just said-…”
“Don’t ‘but’ me, bastard! I can’t believe you ignored her calls. Ugh!” She called back and waited for an answer. “Damn it. Stupid automatic operator is telling me that her phone is offline. Why would she go offline right after trying to call me so many times?”
Sharon came up to Shirley and interrupted their conversation, “Oh my god. I couldn’t stop listening so I just had to mention… I saw this in a movie once!”
“Oh boy…” Huy sighed. Sharon punched him and she went on.
“Anyways! This means that Yessenia could be getting beat up by a bunch of gangsters and that those people stole her phone and stuff. She’s in danger!”
“Get real. Gangsters, beating up a girl?” Huy asked.
“You get real! Yessenia is tough so they wouldn’t go easy on her!” Sharon screamed.
Shirley yelled at the both of them, “OKAY OKAY! Don’t panic, you guys!” She paused to catch her breath, “All we have to do is call someone who is always around her. Call her house, Alex. I’ll call um… Matt. Lately since summer began, they have been hanging out with each other more often.”
Sharon told them, “And I’ll call Shirley!”
Shirley turned over to Sharon, “Really, Sharon, really?”
“I was just trying to help…” Sharon frowned.
Huy smacked Sharon on the arm a little, “Hey, wanna go get some water? I’m tired.” Sharon agreed to follow him but she smacked him back.
Shirley was waiting for Matt’s reply while Alex was speaking in Chinese with Yessenia’s parents. After a few seconds, Shirley closed her phone. “No answer… An automatic operator came up too.”
Alex hung up his phone. “And his parents picked up and said she is not at home. They got worried right away but I said she must be with some other friends or something.”
“Well anyway then, that leaves us with some clues, right?” Shirley tried to put the pieces together. She used her hands to explain the situation, “Alright, first-…”
“What are you doing…?”
“Using my hands, what else?”
“You remind me of this guy I know… he talks a lot and he unnecessarily moves his hands too much when he explains stuff.”
“OKAY anyways!” Shirley became annoyed. “Enough with that. So, Matt and Yessenia both didn’t pick up but Yessenia’s parents did. That gives us an obvious clue right there. If you combine that with what Sharon said about calling us but not responding when we call them, then everything makes sense.”
“So Yessenia did get beat up by gangsters?”
“Not that part!” Shirley yelled. “Matt and Yessenia are in danger for a different reason. Could they be kidnapped? No… that normally doesn’t happen during the day time. Something unstoppable… something-… Edmund! The people in charge of Edmund: Luther, Stan, Winny, Santi… all of them!”
“W-What? How can that be? Have they gone to Edmund awhile ago?”
“Who knows, Alex? We have to teleport to Edmund right now! Come on, we should leave the school first because there are surveillance cameras everywhere.” She grabbed Alex’s arm and they ran off together to the front of the school.
Sharon laughed it out as always. While laughing, she punched Huy telling him that their loss was his fault. Alex stared at them, feeling an awkward commotion going on. Shirley took out her cellphone, “Let’s hide behind that tree!” She ran up to an empty area where there were a bunch of trees. “They won’t see us right behind the community center. Alright, here we go.” She checked her list but all of the options were gray. “What the heck?” She tried to press the gray word “Edmund”.
Alex said after staring at his phone, “Uh Shirley? My buttons don’t work.”
Shirley stomped her foot, “Oh geez, don’t tell me Matt and Yessenia already solved Edmund without us.”
Alex pointed at Arkon’s Magic, “Arkon’s Magic was solved too? I remember when I first got my powers, El Monte, Arkon’s Magic, and Edmund were the only options open.”
Shirley crossed her arms in confusion, “No… Arkon’s Magic is never completed. It’s like our second home. What can all of this mean?”
“This means that Matt and Yessenia aren’t in Edmund then, right? They’re still somewhere safe in El Monte.”
Shirley scratched her hair in frustration, “Gah! This is all so weird! Maybe we’re just stressing too much!”
“Let’s just go ask around to see if people have seen Yessenia and Matt.” Alex suggested. Shirley agreed to it.
Jennifer whispered to Lupe, “Did you hear that? This world of ‘Edmund’ sounds really intriguing.”
“Also interesting.” Lupe added.
“Indeed. I’m very sure of it that Matt and Yessenia are there. And with our secret weapon, we might be able to help Shirley and Alex.”
“I really don’t want to meddle.” Lupe said slowly.
“Sometimes you just have to help people. Let’s go. I have the perfect idea.”

Matt and Yessenia teleported into the world of Edmund right above the underground cellar. Matt almost tripped on his landing while Yessenia stood up perfectly. Yessenia touched parts of the walls where the Tower of Despair once existed. The wall collapsed without force. Matt got up from his landing and then he exampled the broken rubble from the walls, “We’re back to where we left off. But why are we here? I don’t remember choosing the option to get here.” Yessenia looked down, facing away from Matt. He asked, “Hey, are you okay or something?”
Yessenia put her cellphone away, “Check your cellphone.”
Matt took out his cellphone and then he stared at it, “Okay and then what?”
“Open it! Check the options on your list and see if you can go back to El Monte.”
Matt opened his cellphone and he viewed his list. “Every single thing is gray…! Gray letters! That means we can’t click on them!”
“Our messed up connections must have brought us here.” Yessenia sat down on a piece of rubble, “We are stuck here in Edmund.”
“No… that can’t be. Let’s call somebody!”
“Calling will not help. If we are stuck here, then we are stuck here. Besides, our phones did not reach Shirley, nor will it reach anybody else.”
“Then what should we do?” Matt said in a panic. “We can’t just stay here! We have to do something.”
“That damn messed up connection…” She clenched her fists in fury.
A demonic voice from above laughed and then spoke up. “Ah hah hah hah hah! Do you think a simple mental connection screwed up your teleportation method? Yes, it is I, Luther, who did it.”
“But why?!” Matt yelled at the sky. “(Man this is ridiculous, talking to the sky like this.)”
“’Why’, you ask? My completion is done! Now you see, there is nothing left for Edmund. However, there is so much I want to take from El Monte so I took the two most threatening power users here and now the world of El Monte is completely useless without you two. What can you do here while I take over El Monte? NOTHING! Gah hah!”
Matt yelled, “You pig!” All the sudden, he was zapped from the cloudy sky for about three seconds. He knelt down to the ground, losing lots of energy already.
“Matt!” Yessenia called. “Ergh… Where are our friends?” She said to Luther.
“Friends? Ohhhh, you mean Winny and Santiago! My two most prized minions.”
Matt mocked Luther as best as he could even with exhaustion. “Your two… only prized minions.” He got electrocuted again. Matt could barely speak now. He was trying to catch his breath.
Yessenia screamed, “Stop it, Matt! You’re only hurting yourself.” She began shaking.
“Ah, so you’re showing your weaker, fearful side. Look at you two, squirming around in physical and mental pain. I barely moved a sweat.” Luther’s voice became more difficult to listen to. “Just let you two rot around in Edmund for awhile… He he he.” The voice disappeared.
Matt slowly spoke this time. “We… have to… do something…!”
Yessenia closed her eyes. “Where is our next clue here in Edmund?”
Matt looked up at her eyes being closed completely. He could see that she wanted to give up even after how much she had indirectly told Matt not to give up. “Yessenia, don’t… give up yet. Please?” Yessenia opened her eyes wide. Matt never requested anything from her. They were friends who didn’t need each other’s help, just each other’s company. Matt continued, “If… you give up now, then we will… have no lead to any… where. I swear, Yessenia, you are one of the strongest, most dependable power users that we all know.” His energy was regaining to the point where he could speak almost normally. “We just, have to keep going, right?”
Yessenia watched him in pain. She gave a smirk of a grin. “Hmph, you are one smart idiot, aren’t you?” She stood up, “Well whatever. I guess you do have a point. We might as well not give up and find something instead since we would be doing nothing more than roaming around like little animals in Luther’s eyes. Are you able to move?”
Matt was on his knees, “A little, yeah. I’ll be fine.” He used his fire powers to warm himself up. “As long as this messed up weather in Edmund has no effect on fire anymore.”
“You have grown really resistant to lots of things since the beginning, Matt. I am glad that your strengths have changed. Imagine if you got shocked twice along time ago compared to now, you would not be alive at all. We can wait a little until you are back to normal. It will not be long.”
Matt nodded, “Since we are waiting like little animals like you say, we might as well wait for me to regain sanity then. Thanks, Yessenia.”
“That is fine. As long as our next goal is to look for some clues on where Luther, Winny and Santi are!”
“And Stan and Jen.” Matt added.
“Oh right. I am not used to prioritizing for them.”
“That’s okay. I know what you mean.” Matt chuckled. Yessenia chuckled with him. They were trying their best to be happy even during a situation as this. All they could do was wait, just like animals. Just like nothing more…
Yessenia put her cellphone away, “Check your cellphone.”
