Episode 148 - Fire Bound, a Whole New Level of Animation

Last time on episode 147, lots of events happened! First, Matt and Jenny finally meet again in Elk Village. For some reason, Jenny seems worried compared to all of the other lieutenants. In suspicion, Matt decides not to listen to her as he runs away, moving on to his journey. When Van, Shirley, and Yessenia head towards Lancer, Van worries about her boss. This boss reveals the connection between him and the trio-sisters. William continues to talk with Huy and Alex about the elemental powers. He says that the more knowledge you have, the stronger you are with your elemental powers. It is also easier to control! It does make sense that the strongest members seem to be the smartest which is why they are after Omar!
Episode 148 – Fire Bound, a Whole New Level of Animation

            Matt and Nix stood in front of Michael in Elk Village. The tension was still high between each other. Nix flew onto the floor in fear. Matt turned around and watched it. “Nix, what’s wrong?”
            Michael glared over at the little bird. “This little chicken is yours?”
            Matt knelt down to carry the terrified bird. “So what if it is? It’s mine.”
            Michael turned away. “Bartholemute had one as well, but it was a full-blown animal.”
            “What are you trying to say?”
            “Just be careful.” Michael said.
            Matt stood up, holding the frightened bird in his arms. It was shivering and frowning. “I don’t need you to tell me to be careful. I don’t know who this Rowen Bartholemute guy is, but tell him to get out of my way if he ever does plan on bothering us.”
            “You don’t understand! This is crucial. If Tony continues to expose elemental crystals, Rowen will find out and he will get closer to the depths of this – the Pendulum of Time!”
            Matt scratched his head. “So you’re telling me Rowen is here in Elsiya or what?”
            “Most likely. I felt powerful presence of his kind of elemental power several times on this island. Luckily, he is not near this village. So please, come with me. Gather all of your friends and I’ll take you guys back to Arkon’s Magic.”
            “No.” Matt made Nix disappear in his elemental spirit so that it could rest. Matt continued, “We will stop Tony from whatever he’s doing. That can also help us avoid Rowen anyway. If you think about it, if we stop Tony, then Rowen won’t sense any elemental crystals being expanded.”
            Michael yelled at him. “That’s not the point! The other way around this is to gather everyone to hide in another world. It’s much simpler and faster.”
            “How are you going to convince Tony then? You’re no leader in comparison to him.”
            Michael clenched his teeth. “Fine. I will force you to join me. I got one person so far.”
            “What? Who?”
            Michael was silent for a moment and then he finally said, “Alice. Alice Quach.”
            Matt opened his eyes wide. “What? How?! Wasn’t she with Yessenia and Alex?”
            “Yes. Back then, I only planned to take Alice because I want the borderline of elemental crystals to be cut at 2011, but Rowen’s presence was nearing and Tony was increasing elemental crystals on more students. This made me decide that all of us should hide in Arkon’s Magic instead of only Alice.”
            Matt summoned his butterfly sword. “Yeah well, just leave me alone and we’re good!”
            Michael plucked an eyebrow and he turned it into a butterfly sword as well. “Then so be it!”
            “What?!” Matt rolled his eyes.
 ~~~
            Yessenia, Shirley, and Van were all being coiled from the spider webs that Maggie created. Van yelled out, “Come on, animals!” A large bear long claws appeared.
            Shirley made a hysterical face. “Eh?! Since when did bears live in the Floral Waterscape?” She said in a crying tone.
            “I am just not going to ask…” Yessenia said, almost speechless.
            “Claw those webs away!” Van commanded.
            Maggie used her right hand to create more webs on the bear this time. “Oh no you don’t!”
            “Birds, it’s your turn!” Van summoned birds which fell from the tree’s branches hanging above Maggie. Maggie lost her focus as she tried to jump away. The webs that she focused on weakened and the three girls were able to break free. Van said to Yessenia and Shirley, “Hurry, head over to Lancer. William should be over there right now.”
            Yessenia gasped. “Alex and Huy are there as well!”
            Shirley ran ahead. “Come on Yessenia, we don’t have much time!”
            Yessenia said to Van, “I am trusting you.”
            Van nodded. “Alright, leave it to me!” Yessenia ran with Shirley and Van said to Maggie, “You’re going down.”
            Maggie laughed. “I see your powers are just as strong. You can’t stand against my spider webs, though!”
 ~~~
            Huy’s booster made him fly towards William with tremendous speed. William created a golem from the ground. “Soul – activated.” The golem tried to grab Huy with a large hand. As a result, Huy’s left leg was caught against the palms of the large hand and the golem clenched tightly.
            Huy laughed. “Heh! Is that all you can do?” He was still able to spin in the golem’s grip. “Spinning Boost!” Huy spun like a drill and he broke through the golem successfully. “Gotcha!”
            “Time for my next trick, then! Soul, activate! Trent!” The tree behind William began to move on its own. Two eyes appeared from the tree’s trunks and the branches expanded like arms and fingers.
            Huy jumped back onto the ground in front of William as he watched the tree in motion. “That’s it?” He spoke too soon, however. Each branch expanded quickly towards him with tremendous speed. However, Huy’s elemental crystal of boost helped his legs act as an aerobic. With this, he was able to jump and avoid each and every one of the branches.
            William stopped. “Peh. So it seems like you are quite naturally smart in school.”
            “What do you mean?”
            “I didn’t explain to you? Jaime is aiming to catch Omar and drug him up with several elemental crystals. Experiments have lately proven that the smarter you are, the better and faster you are in learning how to use your powers. Let’s take Matt for example.” Huy squinted at the thought of Matt’s name for some reason.
            William fixed his glasses. “I’ve done some research on him. He had a very hard time learning how to even control his powers. Right now, his grade-point average is not the best, and not even close.”
            “Are you saying Matt is dumb?”
            “Not dumb, but below people like us. But anyway, that is not the point. The point is that it is slower for people like Matt to learn their powers. If Tony could get a hold of the strongest members of El Monte, then we can successfully prove to South El Monte that we are stronger at last!”
            Huy thought about it carefully. He learned to catch on with his boosting powers real easily compared to Matt who took weeks to even try and control his fire powers. “I don’t give a crap about your theories. I’m going to take you down and take back what is mine!”
            “The Grimoire book?” William pretended he was confused. “You aren’t getting it.” William stretched his left arm outward. “Soul, activate, Kappa!”
            “What now?” Huy noticed that a creature appeared out of the water nearby him. Huy turned to William, “Are you insane?!”
            “This looks like something Alex is capable of learning. Well, enjoy.”
            Huy turned back at the Kappa however it was already nearby. It head-butt itself against Huy with its own shell. Huy fell from the force of the Kappa’s push. The Kappa was green, except for the top of its little head. It was the size of a little child and it had a turtle shell on its back along with a tiny spear. “You little mischief!”
            William appeared from behind Huy with a small knife to strike with. Huy boosted himself from the ground and he jumped upward. Huy positioned himself up-side down and he used the air to boost himself downward. As he flew back down, William ordered the Kappa to jump on top of William in order to guard against Huy’s fall. Huy punched the shell of the Kappa. The force was strong enough to break the shell and Huy jumped away back onto the ground. William noticed that the Kappa vanished because it had lost its shell. William wiped his mouth with his right sleeve. “Meh, a worthy opponent I suppose! However, don’t start thinking you’re getting somewhere yet.”
            Huy was getting a bit exhausted anyway. “Ergh, what’s next?”
            William raised his hands. “Soul – activate! Twister!” The air began to transform on its own.
            “Damn it!” Huy took a step back. “Another annoying object turned into something lively.”
            The wind began to spring together and a light face was created within the twister. “How do you like this elemental crystal? Does it seem difficult to surpass?”
            Huy checked his surroundings. “No problem! I’ll just have to attack the one in charge of this twister!” He took more steps backwards to make sure he has enough space to create a boost for himself.
            “Nuh-uh-uh!~” William snapped his fingers. “Let’s go, Twister! Feel free to expand yourself!” The Twister grew and it surrounded Huy all around. “Are you ready for the implosion?”
            “Implosion?!” He checked his surroundings. “Are you meaning to tell me that this thing will close in on me?” The Twister was getting smaller, thus getting closer to Huy himself. “Damn it!” He was about to boost of the ground until he saw more wind surrounding him from up above. “I’m caved in!” He covered his eyes.
            Once the wind was closing in quicker, it suddenly flew past by Huy and it eventually vanished. William became frustrated. “Tch, what just happened?!”
            Yessenia and Shirley both appeared in the flesh! Yessenia had her long sword out. “No one messes with my friends.”
            Huy gave a sighing relief. “Hey! You both made it!”
            Shirley gave two fingers up. “You got it! Tehe.”
            William gasped. “Sh-Shirley…”
 ~~~
            Matt tried to slash Michael with his butterfly sword. Michael slipped to the side and retaliated with his own strike. “You’re running directly towards me. That’s not a good way to start, like I’ve shown you back at West Bridge!”
            Matt turned around quickly. He pointed at Michael with his sword, “You don’t need to remind me. It sometimes does work if people think outside of the box.”
            “That’s what you think.” Michael directly ran towards Matt, “Just give up!”
            Matt became cocky. “Heh! You’re being a hypocrite, running right at me.”
            Michael suddenly slid and kicked Matt’s right leg to make him fall onto the ground. Well, Matt did fall as a result. Michael turned around to face Matt who was now on the floor. Michael pointed his own sword at Matt. “That was a quick finish.”
            Matt grabbed the sword with his bare right hand. Michael was startled at this sight. Matt said angrily, “Don’t underestimate how strong I can be. I’m already used to pain after all of the tough battles I’ve had anyway!” Matt became even angrier. His aura was yellow. The heat was causing Michael’s sword to shatter.
            Michael thought in his mind, “Damn it, what the hell?! My weapons act as if they are still of hair substance. Only my weapons can shatter because they were originally made by hair.” Matt began to use his jet gliding skill.
            He opened his palms from up above. “Fireball!” He threw a fireball down towards Michael and Michael took another hair from his eyebrow. He then created another sword to block Matt’s fireball. The eyebrow slightly burnt. Matt threw two more fireballs and then he created a combo with his recent skill, Fire Needles. A stack of needles flew towards Michael.
            Michael barely jumped away. “Wow. So you are pretty strong, I see.”
            Matt pointed at Michael while gliding, “I got you now! Fire Missile!”
            “Another one?!” Michael said with surprise. The missile made a small explosion and Matt could barely see what was happening through the debris.
            Matt sighed. “Phew. Did I get him?”
            Quickly, Michael sprung out of the debris and he aimed his newly created sabre sword towards Matt. With barely enough reflex, Matt created a Fire Shield. He was slightly late on making the shield, so his defense was not as strong. This caused Matt to fall towards the ground. Michael took out a few more hairs from his eyebrows and then he created several sabre swords to surround Matt who was flat on the ground. “Now you are finished!-“
            “Matt?” An innocent voice was heard. Amy and Bunhong appeared from the road behind Matt and Michael.
            “Oh? Two El Monte students.” Michael said to Amy and Bunhong.
            Bunhong had a red cape on. “In the name of hero’s glory, you are the villain! Lay your hands off of Matt!”
            “I’m not even holding onto him.” Michael said blankly.
            Amy frowned as she stood in front of Bunhong. “Why are you hurting him?” She asked innocently.
            “We agreed to battle. I am here to take all of you El Monte students in order to protect you from your own dangers.”
            Amy blushed in fear. “W-What do you mean?”
            Bunhong pointlessly yelled, “WE ARE HEROIC. WE ARE NEEDED IN THIS VILLAGE!”
            Amy closed her eyes. “I don’t want to like anyone who hurts someone like Matt!”
            “Amy…” Matt felt guilty that she had to suffer watching him in pain.
            Amy had a slight greenish aura. Michael took a step back. “D-Don’t tell me, you too?!” The ground began shaking. “You have powers… your true powers are erupting at this time?”
            Amy groaned in anger as if she was crying out loud. “Waah, aaahhhh, graaaah!!” The trees began to move on its own and the bushes next to them began shaking. As a result, their whole surroundings were basically shaking!
