Episode 224 - Elemental Nullos, the Third Match and the Star

Recently on Fires of the sky, the El Monte students returned to Earth only to find it still frozen. As they return to Arkon’s Magic, the six main students, Matt, Yessenia, Jaime, Alex, Venus, and Winny all enter a bridge that leads them to the Elemental Challenges! Without further delay, they were forced to attend as the six members for the challenges, but are they ready? After finishing the first match, the El Monte students find that they have humiliatingly lost against all the other four schools. Even worse, one of the members of El Monte seemed to have mysteriously run away with Benny, a member from Rosemead. Even after the second match, El Monte placed last again! How are they going to win now?
Episode 224 – Elemental Nullos, the Third Match and the Star

            “Why am I suddenly in this stupid place?! Get me out of here, damn it!” Matt tried to punch the cell bars in front of him with flames but nothing happened. He appeared to be in a prison that blocked elemental users from being able to cast their magic. This place, known to be the high government of Elemental Magic Discipline, is called the Elemental Nullos. It is a land unattainable by any ordinary elemental user unless he or she has committed an extreme crime towards the government of Elemental Magic.
            Matt still shook the cell bars until a random prisoner spoke up, “Quit with that crap already, yo!”
            Matt clenched his teeth. “Ergh. I can’t just sit around here doing nothing. The Elemental Challenges is still going on and I have no idea what’s happening anymore!” He took a step back. “Come on, Nix. Let’s break this thing open together!” He tried to summon his pet bird but nothing would happen. “Oh right… I don’t have the power to summon it.”
            He started hearing footsteps from the distance. While he waited, he saw the shadow appear in the only light that was showing from a door at a faraway distance. Benny and Venus walked across of Matt’s cell! There were four solders walking these two along the hallway.
            “Hey, what the?! Venus!”
            She turned to him in surprise. “Uh-!”
            “You’re…” He examined her clothes and skin. “You’ve been hurt. What happened?”
            She blushed. “S-Shut up. It’s none if your business…” She turned away as she kept walking. Benny walked with her.
            “What?! Hey come back! There’s so much I need to ask you!”
            “She’s done talking to you. Go back to your corner.” Said a soldier.
            Matt pouted. “Hmph.” He kicked the cellar, hurting his own feet as a result. “Ouch, ouch! Ugh. Stupid thing.” He said to himself as he actually crawled into his corner.
 ~~~
            “So… Are we really forced to take Matt out of the next match?” Jaime asked the group which included Yessenia, Alex, and Winny.
            “That boy is always so stubborn. I wonder what happened to him? No matter where you were in the challenges, you would automatically be put back into this room.” Alex said.
            Yessenia sighed. “At any rate, we are down to four members, as the same goes for everybody. We just have to wait for the next riddle to come up.”
            “I kind of wanted to ask you this earlier, but what the hell are you wearing?” asked Jaime.
            “Oh, you mean this fashionable thingy? Eheh, someone awesome gave it to me!” Winny giggled with her giddy personality.
            “Uh…” Jaime slowly said.
            “You might want to stop with that hypocritical judgment especially if you’re going to keep that cowboy hat on!” Winny said with her serious personality. She suddenly cuddled with her Changmin ball. “Isn’t that right, Changmin?~”
            The portal ahead of them flashed. Alex quickly ran up ahead to check the riddle. “Each end of a star will have to centralize as soon as possible and enter through brute force.”
            “That’s straight-forward.” Jaime commented.
            “Each end of a star… Well, a star has five ends.” Yessenia imagined. “And there are five schools. Basically, each of our whole teams might have to start at one end and run towards the center of the star.”
            “Where would this star be?” Alex tried to imagine it but nothing came up. “Um, would you say we would be ON a star?”
            Winny was spinning with her Changmin ball behind the group of three El Monte students. Jaime continued to focus, “Assuming that, we would have to reach the center and enter something with brute force.”
            “We might have to fight for the entrance then.” Yessenia claimed. “It does seem like this riddle is a bit too simple to understand… But still, we will just have to keep going and find out.” She headed towards the portal.
            “I-I’m ready for what’s up ahead then!” Alex clenched his fists as he entered the portal, hoping that everything going on with Sith is fine at this point. He also hoped Gina and Emmy are still okay regardless of their rivalry. After Alex, Jaime and then Winny followed along, lagging behind.
 ~~~
            Yessenia was first to appear on her platform. However, no one else seemed to show up behind her. She was alone. It was just one long corridor and she knew right away what her group was misinterpreting about the current match. “The riddle had the words ‘as soon as possible’ in it. I hope the other three got the message.”
            This match actually has four large stars and one student from each school along with one student from their respective team has to head towards the center of the star. What about the second-half of the riddle? This was the strange part of the mystery.
            Meanwhile, Jaime took his time walking ahead while Winny continued to stay still, hugging her Changmin ball. Alex simply ran up ahead as he was afraid of the creepy, narrow hallway.
 ~~~
            In the Element Nullos prison, Emmy and Shirley were put into the same prison while the others were in separate rooms. Emmy shrugged. “Gee, it sure was generous of them to put us in the same room. We’ll probably be loud.” She giggled.
            Shirley screamed in fear. “Eek! Why are we stuck in here? It’s so dirty! And why are you so calm?!”
            Emmy yawned. “In Arroyo, we take on a lot of dangerous missions.”
            “Missions? For what?”
            “That’s what we call the other worlds. It appears depending on your school’s students’ influence with their education. Meaning, whenever a lot of you focus on the same impact, a new world may appear in your cellphone. We figured this out early in our freshman year so we decided to focus together on lots of things to earn more worlds. We just ended up calling these worlds ‘missions’.”
            “Oh my gosh… You guys are dedicated. How many missions did you go on exactly?”
            “Oh you know, only like 27 or something. Maybe more. Oh yeah! We went through probably like 30 more worlds in sophomore year.”
            Shirley froze. “(We only went through five in freshman year and spent the whole sophomore year stuck in Elsiya…)”
            “Hey, you need to tell me how many places you’ve been to!”
            “Of course a lot too, like I don’t know, six-… ty. SIXTY.” Said Shirley.
            Emmy giggled. “Gosh! You must be really powerful now, Shirley. We should spar sometime soon before the challenges end! Although we can’t right now since we’re in a prison that nullifies magic…”
            Shirley giggled even louder. “EHEHEH, yeah sure! (I’m not sure if I want to battle her at this point anymore…)”
 ~~~
            Alex ran up ahead towards the light, being afraid that something would pop out of the dark behind or beside him. “I hate this round. Where is everybody?!”
            All of the sudden, a rapier sword fell from above him. “Gya ha ha ha! Surprised, young man?”
            “Eeek! Where did that come from?!”
            Dracula jumped from a ledge above of him. “I got this map taken care of. It’s basically a bunch of open spaces after reaching towards the ceiling.”
            “And how does that work?”
            “Think of it as a bunch of steps and staircases, but way up there. It’s really inconvenient for people like you though, since you can’t fly like some of us can. Gya ha ha!” He began to fly towards the ledge above himself with the help of his cape.
            Alex noticed his long nose, purple skin, and vampire-like outfit, “I assume you’re some kind of lame vampire?”
            “LAME vampire?! Non’ non’! I am Dracula, master of the professional vampires!”
            “There are levels of vampires?”
            “That’s not my point! Urgh, you drive me nuts already! Take this!” He took out his Red Stone and then it began flashing towards Alex.
            Alex covered his eyes. “Ergh, what is this? You’re in my way!”
            Dracula began explaining, “I already tried this before. It almost worked will on this damn girl with wind powers, but you don’t look as strong. It will take all of your energy away. What’s even worse, you’ll die right here!” He grabbed the rapier sword with his other hand.
            Alex thought of the word ‘die’ again and he remembered Sith. “Wait a minute, is it even legal to kill students off?!”
            “I’ll just weaken you down. If you die, that’s on your hand if you’re not strong enough to survive!” Dracula threw the rapier sword at Alex while the Red Stone was absorbing his energy. However, Alex did not realize what this Red Stone was doing to him yet.
            Alex jumped away and the red aura was still following him. He ignored it since it did not hurt him, at least not yet. He then created an Aqua Tornado but it could not expand due to the narrow hallway that they were in. Furthermore, Alex had trouble trying to constantly locate Dracula’s appearance since the room was dark.
            Dracula appeared behind Alex by surprised as he kicked him over. Upon falling, Dracula used his Bloodsuck ability to speed the process of extracting energy from him. Alex suddenly fell from a lack of energy. “Oh crap, what the heck just happened?!”
            “You’ve been weakened by my abilities! Gya ha ha ha!”
            “Damn it… If only I had the chance to just slice him into several piece and cook him and feed him to my dogs-…” He suddenly came to a stop when he saw a speeding insect fly past his eyes and across of Dracula. Dracula flinched and Sith appeared in front of him. “Huh?! Hey, it’s you!” He was surprised. Another school student protected him!
            “Oh? Aren’t you two from different schools? What is this?” Dracula questioned.
            Alex tried to get up, but he had no energy. “How did you find us?”
            “I could sense you from nearby.”
            “You could smell me from far away?!”
            Sith laughed. “Insects can’t necessarily smell things. We can detect and segregate you by scent. And, for a person to accept and know his meaning of life, is a real man.” He referred to Alex who previously defined what it meant to live onward.
            “So you’re protecting your enemies? How lame. Non’, I will not allow this!” Dracula raised his Red Stone and he aimed it at Sith. Sith jumped away and he tried to pierce through Dracula with his knife-like arm. Sith increased his own speed and then he dashed towards the Red Stone, shattering it into several pieces.
            Dracula took a step back. “W-W-What?! Ergh! That does it!” Dracula picked up his rapier sword and then he pointed it towards Sith, “You’re going down!”
            Alex’s energy was regained. He was able to stand up, however Sith ordered him to keep going. “Thanks!” Alex smiled. “But, let me help you!”
            Sith interrupted him, “No. You go on ahead! My purpose is not found yet, but I have to keep fighting those who try to stop me and one day, I can find out what the real purpose is.” He sighed. “My friends in Arroyo… Us knights do not know when to give up.” Alex remembered that Arroyo’s mascot was the knights.
            “Wait, if you’re from Arroyo, then you know Emmy!”
            “She mysteriously disappeared in the last match, so she was forced to be taken out of our team. As for now, Irene, Pochi, and Raven are the only ones remain. Now go, we have no time to talk!” Sith was struck by the rapier sword but he only shed his skin away.
            Alex was utterly surprised. He realized that not only Emmy was taken out of the team, but Gina was as well. Where do these students even go after they lose?
 ~~~
            Going back shortly from before the third match, each school had to decide which students to exempt from the challenges. For some schools, it was a difficult decision, but for others, not really…
 ~~~
            Obrin was kicked onto the floor, much like Porter. His small hat that had two holes fell to the ground. Layla glared at him. “Again, another member has to be taken out to fight for us eagles.” Assumingly, South El Monte’s mascot is the eagle.
            “B-But why me?! I didn’t do anything wrong, unlike Porter!”
            Layla looked away. “I’m sorry, but we have to do this. Kicking out the next weakest link is our way of showing that we can defeat anybody who gets in our way. Don’t take it personal or anything. Ha ha ha!” Obrin began to cry.
~~~
            In Mountain View, West raised his hand. “If you need a member out, I will do it. I have not been a useful member, so I will take the blow.”
            “Is that okay, West?” Romeo asked kindly.
            Kieth shook his head. “If it is his noble decision, we will let him.”
            “Yeah, just hurry up and go then! Gya ha ha!” Dracula laughed obnoxiously. The last member, however, said nothing.
 ~~~
            With Matt, Emmy, and Benny going missing, they were forced to stay out of the third match. The bigger problem is questioning why Matt and Emmy are suddenly in jail without any explanation. Benny is also in the Element Nullos, but for what reason? Only four students from each school remain but they are highly unaware of this mysterious force that is being handled in the challenges. The end, is near – for all of them.
