Episode 241 - Revenge

Recently on Fires of the sky, the El Monte students returned to Earth only to find it still frozen. As they return to Arkon’s Magic, the six main students, Matt, Yessenia, Jaime, Alex, Venus, and Winny all enter a bridge that leads them to the Elemental Challenges! Without further delay, they were forced to attend as the six members for the challenges. After the challenge had finished, the final match had made a wrong turn. Dragon appears along with Sammy, Benny, and Venus and they begin to explain the truth about their appearance. Van, Maggie, and Jenny are thrown into the Eternal Nothingness while Matt’s group follows along in search for them. Likewise, Alex and the other remaining students of the challenges are dropped into the same fate in the Eternal Nothingness. Will these students be stuck in there forever?
Episode 241 – Revenge

            Last time from where we picked off in Matt’s group, Matt and his friends made way to the Eternal Nothingness in hopes of finding the Trio-Sisters: Van, Maggie, and Jenny. Shirley did not want to go because she knew there was no absolute way in leaving, but Matt’s friends such as Nix, Yessenia, Jaime, Winny, Jon, and Michael persisted, agreeing that there was no way out of the Elemental Nullos in the first place. Strangely enough, a mysterious force let them free from the asylum and now they’re using this advantage to go into the Eternal Nothingness. At the same time, Alex’s little group of tough members from the Elemental Challenges are traveling together even if most of them have terrible bonds with each other. From the last scene, Van is heartbroken from what she had experienced as Maggie begins to chase after her. What will happen now that all of this is going onward?
 ~~~
            Matt’s group was walking straight forward with a very long awkward silence. Nix was happily flying next to Matt while Yessenia and Jon were minding their own business. Winny was busy cuddling with her Changmin ball. Jaime looked around the area, noticing that someone was missing. Shirley stared at the whole group continuously for several minutes until she decided to shout at them, “MMMM, AHHH!! I can’t stand this anymore! How much longer are we going to walk towards nothing?!”
            Matt turned around as he said hysterically at her, “We might just find something if we keep going! Graaah!!!”
            “Are you going to talk back to me that way?!”
            “I just did!”
            “I’ll freeze you up!”
            “Oh, you think you’re so cool?!”
            “Of course I’m ‘cool’, I can make ice!”
            “Really guys, is now the time?” Jon interrupted them. “We should really work together and find a way out of here, which is exactly what we’re doing. What else can we do?”
            Shirley pouted. “Hmph. The real question is, what COULD have we done earlier? NOT go here, that’s what!”
            Jaime said from behind the group, “Eh, at least it’s nice to see those two still in high spirits. By the way, I wanted to point out that Michael is gone.”
            The group began to look around. Winny gave a huge sigh of relief. “Oh, phew! I thought my Changmin ball disappeared. Thanks for scaring me, Jaime.”
            “On a serious matter, where did he run off to?” Yessenia questioned. “That is an interesting sign though. If he disappeared from our sight, then we are definitely not walking in a circle.”
            Jon agreed and added, “True, and that’s better than knowing that the Eternal Nothingness is an infinite space.”
            Yessenia took out her long sword. “Wait. I am starting to hear a strange noise.” The group became quiet while Matt and Shirley were butting heads with each other. “Footsteps. They’re coming closer.”
            Jaime squinted his eyes and he noticed a little girl wearing green. “Is that…?”
 ~~~
            In Alex’s group, Irene suddenly stopped in front of them. “What is it?” Alex asked as kindly as he could before she could hurt him for getting in her way.
            “It just occurred to me,” She thought to herself. “We may not be the only ones here.”
            “Oh you’re right!” Romeo spoke. “Where did our friends go?”
            “Probably back into the Eternal Somethingness.” Siyun answered. The group became silent. “Get it? Because… we’re in the Nothingness.”
            Alex slapped his face. “That was terrible…”
            “I’ve had it with you, ninja girl.” Layla began to complain. “It’s frustrating just being around you guys! I need to get out of here!”
            “Don’t make Irene beat you up again, hehe.” Alex teased.
            “Do not throw me into this.” Irene glared at the whole group.
            Romeo and Alex screamed and hugged each other in unison. “EEEH! Alex, don’t say more!”
            “I know!” He followed.
            Layla began walking away. “Forget it. I don’t know why I’m even following you guys. I can do this myself!”
            “W-Wait, we need to stick together!” Romeo squealed.
            “If we’re all grouped together, that’s only one chance to look for the answer to getting out of here. If I split up, we have two chances. If you all split up, there is five times the chance that we’ll find out how to get out of here.”
            “I would not count on you anyway, but going alone would be better for me nonetheless.” Irene closed her eyes in shame.
            Alex wailed, “EEEH! NO! We can’t do this independently! I thought we had to work together!”
            Siyun patted his back as hard as she could, “We can work together if you want.”
            “Not you!” Alex ran away from her. “You and your terrible jokes have to go.”
            Romeo headed towards one direction, “Alex, we can go together. At least we get along.”
            Siyun said in a monotone voice, “What a shame. Have fun.” She left to another direction. Irene said nothing as she walked away and Layla did the same.
            “Thanks, Romeo. Let’s find out how to get out of here!” Alex became determined.
 ~~~
            The girl with green clothing headed closer to Matt’s group. The girl’s hair covered her eyes as she ran with her head facing down. “Hey, I think it’s Van!” Jaime guessed.
            Shirley cheered. “OH MY GOSH!!! Did we actually find her?! Van! VAN! We’re over here!”
            Matt ran towards her first. “It really is her. This is awesome! Van, where did you come from?” He said in extreme joy. “I’m so glad you’re okay-…” As Van reached the group, she grabbed onto Matt and she was still facing the floor. Her body was vibrating in fear. “Van?” Matt changed his tone. “What is it?”
            “J-J-J… She… She…!” The group listened carefully. Van’s sadness turned into regret and uncontrollable anger. “You guys… you’re all here. And you couldn’t save her! Nobody could?!” Shirley watched in guilt as she said nothing. She was starting to understand the situation. Matt’s eyes widened as he began to understand as well. “Jenny… is… She’s gone! FOREVER!” She began to punch Matt softly in the chest. “She said everything will be fine. She promised everything would be okay. But nobody was able to save HER, of all people! And then once she disappeared, you guys decide to show up… and… Become useless?!”
            Shirley remembered when she herself was the one who wanted come to the Elemental Challenges, so she brought along the Trio-Sisters which included Jenny. “She’s… ‘gone’…?” She began to fall on her knees as she began crying.
            Jaime tried to help her stand. Matt closed his eyes. Van was kneeling down as well. “Matt… They all… laughed. Almost a thousand men laughed at her jump off the cliff… because they wanted to find out where I was. They blamed me. They blamed me for running away, and because of that, we’re all stuck here in this place. I couldn’t get myself to stop them from cheering. They continued to laugh. All of them – laughing obnoxiously as she died in front of their eyes.”
            Matt’s fists were clenching. Yessenia and Jon looked away in shame. Winny stopped petting her Changmin ball. Jaime whispered to Shirley, “Shirley, come on, it’s alright. You can get up-…”
            “No, it’s not alright! I’m the one who actually brought Jenny into the Elemental Challenges. Because of that, she was caught and sent into the prison and now she’s here,  gone!” Jaime tried to grab her arms but she slapped him away. “DON’T. TOUCH. ME.” She stood up and ran off.
            Jaime was surprised. “Sh-Shirley…”
            “Move.” Matt said to Van with his monotone voice.
            Jon took a step forward. “H-HEY! That’s cold!”
            Van looked up with her tears running down her cheeks. “Get out of my way.” Matt said. It seemed as though his cheerful mood while arguing with Shirley earlier had suddenly… changed into something completely different.
            Nix was watching Matt leave on his own. “Matt…”
            Jon tried to grab Matt’s shoulders. “You idio-…” Yessenia grabbed his arm. Jon turned around in frustration and Yessenia only shook her head in disappointment. This was the signal for Jon to not interfere. Jon turned away. “Jenny… I really liked her, damn it. I was going to tell her once we come back to Earth that we could be together. But now…”
            Van crawled off to the side as the whole group watched Matt slowly walk the same direction as where Van came from. “Where are you going?” Yessenia asked. Matt ignored her. Yessenia, for once, raised her voice at Matt, “WHERE, ARE YOU GOING?” Matt stopped and then he simply raised his right hand up as he continued. Yessenia was surprised. Even Matt stood up against her voice. Nix looked over at Matt and then at Yessenia simultaneously until he decided he had to follow Matt since he was Matt’s fire spirit.
            In this awkward moment, Jaime turned to Winny, “Hey, we should go look for Shirley. Michael too.”
            Winny agreed with him, also giving the expression that she did feel awkward in this moment. “Y-Yeah.” She said to Yessenia and Jon, “We’re going to find Shirley and Michael. Will you two be alright?” Yessenia, Jon, and even Van said nothing.
            Jaime headed towards Shirley’s direction. “Winny, let’s go.” Winny shook her head as she followed him.
 ~~~
            After several minutes, the men continued to cheer at the fact that one of the three girls in gone, and that they now have two more to go. “Ahah! Yes! Should we start splitting up? With 997 of us, we can find the other two girls!”
            Another man cheered. “You got that right! We’re going to kill the other two!” These men were talking as loud as possible enough for somebody nearby to listen in on them.
            “Wait, someone is coming. Is that one of the girls?!”
            “I think so! Let’s kill her!!”
            Matt appeared from the midst and his hair still covered his eyes. He lit flames from his right fist. Nix tried to stop him. “Are you going to hurt them? They’re people.” Matt used his left hand to snap his fingers, forcefully making Nix disappear into his spirit. “Aggh!”
            All 997 men, including the giants that were ranked closer to number 1000 ran in a crowd towards Matt, urging to kill him off immediately. Matt faced forward with an extremely anguish expression. “Killing off my innocent friend? Laughing because she died? What are you, a bunch of retards?!” Matt punched the first man to reach him with a fiery fist that sent him flying towards a small group of people nearby. The group all fell to the ground and the rest of them became silent.
            “Uhhhh…” Many of them said in awe.
            One of them still cheered. “G-Get him!!!!!” The rest of the men cheered onward as they began to run towards Matt. Matt began to strategize first by casting Enheaten on himself so he was veiled in flames. That way, only the short-ranged men had a disadvantage. As the men were coming closer, he casted a bunch of Fire Needles that attacked about thirty of them at once. Then, he threw two large Fireballs followed by one larger Twirling Flame that spun many of them up into the air. It was only one minute and his rage caused him to take down about 150 of them.
            He then decided to glide upward and a large ogre tried to swipe him from below. Matt casted plenty of Fire Missiles that exploded onto many of them. He then created a Fire Serpent that flew in large circles, flowing fire at all of them. The whole area was burning in flames and about 700 of them had fallen. Some men had the power to cast elemental magic such as wind and water but Matt practiced enough to cancel it with either a Fire Shield or by using his Butterfly Sword.
            As he grabbed onto his weapon, he created a Flame Strike and then he had a Burning Blade that stabbed through many of them in an instant. He spun his sword in a large, circular motion as he flew back down to the ground. “Scorcher!” He called out. He then used a new technique that threw flames from his sword in another circular motion called Spiral Blade. 100 more of them were struck with flames. “Swinging Fireball!” He blasted a larger fireball at the remaining men. “This is for laughing at an innocent girl’s death, bastards!”
            He blasted into a strange ‘Flame Burst mode’ that caused his whole body to double in flames in comparison to his Enheaten ability. With this, he could create two times the heat of his Vermillion spell that he casted against the enemies. “Take this!!!” After this attack, only about twenty of them remain.
            Two of the little men remain were frightened and the rest struggled. “Ergh… our ogres can defeat you!” Three ogres ran forward and Matt glided into the air as he used another spell of Fire Missiles to burn them down. The missiles took care of the two men and a few others. One more tiny man remained.
            “I-I surrender!!” he yelled as Matt showed no mercy. He threw a large fireball at him as he fell to the ground in pain. Matt flew back to ground level. He made all of his fire disappear at will and he was still standing perfectly.
            “Don’t ever mess with my friends!” he said with a glaring expression. Even after a mob of 997 enemies, he was still able to perfectly stand.
