Characteristics - Santi, nicknamed from Santiago, is one of Matt's new main friend when Matt entered high school. His role in the story is to teach Matt the preferences of every-day life, along with the conflict that he and Matt share together. Santi is a rather cold character in the story who uses logic whenever Matt is in need of major assistance to fix his problems. Like Jen, Santi is another character that shows slow character development in the beginning
Lately, Santi rarely used his powers. He believes that taking advantage of his powers would not do any good in society unless situations get really out of hand. So far, Santi seems to be the most useful character in the story but he does not abuse such use.
Story preferences (SPOILERS) -
Starters Arc:
Santiago does not seem to show emotion towards any person's feelings but there is always one thing that he believes similarly for Matt and that is that these powers seem to be a curse and not for heroic usage.
Arkon's Magic Arc:
After episode 24, he uses his time powers to save Matt from the brink of death by Jon in Arkon's Magic. In his kindness, he lets Matt decide on how Jon should be taken care of. Although, Matt decides to spare Jon which makes Santi surprised about him.
Olympia Arc:
Santi and his friends continued to adventure through Olympia. In the beginning of Eidothea's life, Santi and Matt work together to try and save the baby from the flames. They were successful in the end.
El Monte Arc:
There seems to be a bit of a confusion in Santi so far. He had been off scene from the story for quite awhile until the last scene of episode 52 where he mysteriously walks away from a classroom with a grin on his face.
Echoville Arc:
However, it is revealed that Santi was responsible for causing Matt to lose his memory weeks later. Because of this, we know more about who Santi really is. But his intentions were the complete opposite.
Later in the arc, Santi fights Captain Silver and his furball pets. He defeats Captain Silver and takes his scimitar. Furthermore, Santi survives all the way towards the end of the arc where he faces off Lamia, Olom, and Vialaro with the help of Matt and Winny.
Forest of Emille Arc:
Santi begins the arc with the accidentally reverse in Jen's memory. This indicates that his powers have forever been malfunctioned and he may need to risk his life in order to fix it.
Edmund Arc:
Santi, along with Matt and Shirley, are the first ones to explore Edmund starting at the bus station. Also, due to the swimming session for PE, Santi is now lazy to work on his hair.
Luther Arc:
The past is revealed about Santi and Winny. Both of them were the initial two students who exploited powers by using injections. Santi was a part of the plan to inject fire powers to Matt when he fainted back in the first episode.
Back in the present, as an unexpected turnover, Santi and Winny decide to join Luther without an explanation as to why they would do so.
Luther decides to abandon Santi and Winny after they took part in Luther's plan. This causes Santi and Winny to be teamless, and they return to Matt's group to fight alongside against Luther. In the end, the group was unsuccessful to stop Luther, so he decides to sacrifice his own life to save the world by fixing time.
Time
Memory Reverse (1) - any memory in his command can be forgotten or reversed
Slow (2) - anything in his focus could be slowed down in motion
Action Reverse (8) - any action done can be reversed
Haste (60) - an object in his view can be sped up, useful for causing others to become more clumsy
Relation to:
Santi and Venus Phan both went to middle school together and Venus relies on him more than anybody else. She does not often yell at him compared to other characters. Santi seems closest to Winny Guan. Although their past were not as close, they have grown a close bond with each other mainly because the both of them can have consistent serious conversations about their powers and what it really holds. His relation to Matthew Tran is not as great as any other as Santi is felt hostile towards Matt. He has to be extra careful with his own actions in order to make Matt happy with, mainly, the truth. Santi also has a slight friendship towards Amy Chieng due to going to the same middle school.
