Yessenia Zhou
[profile picture for episodes 166-220]
Characteristics - Yessenia shows up later than the other characters. She is a rather round character even when she is first shown. She seems cold but she shows obvious carefulness which makes others feel safe around her. Yessenia acts as the most busy and knowledgeable character aside from Santiago. She will be one of the characters in the story who will show an ongoing character development. She will also be one of Matt's new closest friend in the story as Matt begins to trust her.
Yessenia seems to be the most cold but humorous character in the story so far. She shows the least care towards others only so that she could get some laughs out of it. In secret, she is actually more caring than what she shows, which causes Matt to understand that she is very trusting.
Aside from her serious side, Venus has helped Yessenia develop a less serious side. However, this was inevitable in the first place. She seems to have a soft spot for cute things.
Story preferences (SPOILERS) -
Dispel Arc:
Yessenia's first debut is in episode 9 where Matt mysteriously experiences a large amount of wind. Fortunately, this only came from Yessenia as a warning. She tells Matt about Jon's purpose and how she had read a book about the powers. This episode, because of Yessenia, finally starts more plot development on powers. In episode 10, she tells Matt 'Together, from now on, we can help each other...' which implies that she will promise herself to try and be as close to Matt as possible through friendship.
Arkon's Magic Arc:
Yessenia taught Matt about Arkon's Magic and how Jon is ruling the whole place in episode 21. With this, it is believed that Yessenia is the most sourceful character in the story who would provide plot development towards their special supernatural powers. However, she does admit that there are still things about their powers that she does not understand. She still strives to find out what it is, and how to stop Jon without having to kill him.
From since the beginning of her introduction in the story, she secretly had a hard time trusting anybody. She was and is a tough woman who's weakness was to know who to trust. She began to think about it more once Matt decided that he could easily trust Yessenia without an explanation.
Olympia Arc:
Yessenia helps the main group early in the Olympian Arc in order to complete the quest to save Eidothea along with running through the Angel Tower.
Forest of Emille Arc:
She joins Matt on a short venture through the Forest of Emille.
Echoville Arc:

She decides to enter Echoville but a mysterious woman named Siren possesses her and Santi time-stops Yessenia from causing any more destruction. In order to fix her, Siren must reverse Yessenia's possession.
After being frozen for a long time, Yessenia was free from Siren's powers in the end and Yessenia attacked Siren as revenge.
Ruinous Arc:
She continues to join Matt and Shirley down into the ruins of the Forest of Emille to find out more about the calcified Rena. After Rena was free from calcification, Yessenia helped Rena get into El Monte - 2008 outfits in order to fit in to the present era.
Luther Arc:

Marconian Continent Arc:
Yessenia begins her journey with Alex alone. At the East Bridge, they meet Lieutenant Braus. He challenges Yessenia in a sword battle when he taunts her about her sister, Juriana. Throughout the battle, Yessenia eventually breaks Lt. Braus' helmet to reveal his face: Michael. However, Lt. Braus gets an immediate phone call about the northern area of the Marconian Continent. In a hurry, he leaves along with all the other soldiers. This causes Yessenia and Alex to get a clear opening through the East Bridge.
In the Ogre Forest, the two students find Shirley and Huy who are being attacked by CORP soldiers. After fending them off, the four students head into the Ogre Telsi to discuss their situation. After a few conversations, they decide to head towards the Floral Waterscape.
In the Floral Waterscape, the group of four run into Van who can use Animal Manipulation powers. Alex and Huy are asked to go ahead into Lancer first while Yessenia fights. When Shirley becomes constricted by a large snake with the help of Van, Yessenia makes a tricky move to defeat Van instead of the snake. Van becomes sane from William's control and she releases the snake from Shirley. When Maggie arrives, she tells Yessenia and Shirley to head over to Lancer first.
When Yessenia and Shirley arrive at Lancer, William's battle with Alex and Huy comes to an end after seeing Shirley's face. He runs away and monsters begin to appear in the city of Lancer. The four students decide to defeat all of the digicells and monsters until Lancer was safe again. They became heroes, but Yessenia was more concerned about Jaime still. As a result, she ordered the group to head on over to the Death Maze to find Jaime instead of staying in Lancer to cherish their fame.
After rejoicing with Matt and Amy in the Death Maze, the group of six, along with Nix, head over to the String River before reaching Wisteria. During the night, she finds Alex still awake by the river instead of sleeping at the nice, warm campfire. Alex reveals to Yessenia that he still has a grudge against Matt but admits that Alex himself has gotten stronger over the course of being around Yessenia since the beginning of the Marconian Continent.
At the outskirts of Wisteria, Yessenia becomes in charge of restoring Huy's health after being scratched by one of the monsters.
Potrero Arc:
